The UK’s Decision to Extradite Assange Shows Why The US/UK’s Freedom Lectures Are a Farce, by Glenn Greenwald

Julian Assange is the towering hero of our age, rivaled only by Edward Snowden. From Glen Greenwald at greenwald.substack.com:

The Assange persecution is the greatest threat to Western press freedoms in years. It is also a shining monument to the fraud of American and British self-depictions.

The eleven-year persecution of Julian Assange was extended and escalated on Friday morning. The British Home Secretary, Priti Patel, approved the U.S.’s extradition request to send Julian Assange to Virginia to stand trial on eighteen felony charges under the 1917 Espionage Act and other statutes in connection with the 2010 publication by WikiLeaks of thousands of documents showing widespread corruption, deceit, and war crimes by American and British authorities along with their close dictatorial allies in the Middle East.

This decision is unsurprising — it has been obvious for years that the U.S. and UK are determined to destroy Assange as punishment for his journalism exposing their crimes — yet it nonetheless further highlights the utter sham of American and British sermons about freedom, democracy and a free press. Those performative self-glorifying spectacles are constantly deployed to justify these two countries’ interference in and attacks on other nations, and to allow their citizens to feel a sense of superiority about the nature of their governments. After all, if the U.S. and UK stand for freedom and against tyranny, who could possibly oppose their wars and interventions in the name of advancing such lofty goals and noble values?

MBS Sullies Saudi Arabia’s Good Name With Plans To Meet US President, by Caitlin Johnstone

It’s certainly fitting that the odious U.S. regime pals around with the odious Saudi regime. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com:

The White House has officially confirmed reports that President Biden will indeed be visiting Saudi Arabia in contradiction of his campaign vows to make the nation a “pariah” for its human rights violations, and everyone’s acting like visiting a murderous tyrant is somehow beneath the dignity of a US president.

“The President will then travel to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, which is the current chair of the GCC and the venue for this gathering of nine leaders from across the region, at the invitation of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud,” the White House statement reads. “The President appreciates King Salman’s leadership and his invitation.  He looks forward to this important visit to Saudi Arabia, which has been a strategic partner of the United States for nearly eight decades.”

The president will meet with the nation’s de facto leader, Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, to discuss what the White House calls “means for expanding regional economic and security cooperation, including new and promising infrastructure and climate initiatives, as well as deterring threats from Iran, advancing human rights, and ensuring global energy and food security.”

Biden Says The Economy Is As Vibrant And Healthy As He Is

From The Babylon Bee:

WASHINGTON, D.C.—Biden attempted to calm fears of a crashing economy and coming recession today assuring Americans the economy is every bit as vibrant and healthy as he is.

“You people have nothing to worry about. Best economic recovery ever! The economy is just as fit and healthy as Old Joe!” said Biden to a 12-year-old girl in the junior’s clothing section of JCPenney he mistook for an MSNBC reporter. “If I wasn’t the picture of health, do you think I could do this?” Biden then got in the push-up position but quickly forgot why he was down there and decided to go to sleep.

The White House’s gay-black Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre confirmed Biden’s assertions after flipping through her notebook for 30 minutes to find the correct response. “Yes, the economy is very healthy,” she said, “just like the president. I am gay and black.”

Economists also insist the economy will be ok, just as long as someone can find a diaper for the economy to wear when it poops its pants and a special guide to help the economy find its way back to its basement when it forgets where it is.

At publishing time, Biden boasted he is even healthier than the economy as the economy is now dead.

Joe Biden’s Submissive — and Highly Revealing — Embrace of Saudi Despots, by Glenn Greenwald

As long as Saudi Arabia sits atop one of the world’s largest pools of oil and as long as they insist on payment in dollars for that oil the U.S. will continue to sell massive amounts of armaments to Saudi regime and nobody is going to pay much attention to the Saudi’s atrocious human rights record. From Glen Greenwald at greenwald.substack.com:

Biden’s immediate abandonment of his 2020 vow to turn the Saudis into “pariahs,” and his increasing support for the regime, shows the core deceit of U.S. propaganda.

Then-Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Saud al-Faisal (2nd R) welcomes then-US Vice President Joe Biden (C) at the Riyadh airbase on October 27, 2011, upon his arrival in the Saudi capital with a US official delegation to offer condolences to the King Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz following the death of his brother, Crown Prince Sultan. In 2018, President Trump issued a statement reaffirming the U.S.’s long-standing relationship with the Saudi royal family on the ground that this partnership serves America’s “national interests.” Trump specifically cited the fact that “Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producing nation in the world” and has purchased hundreds of billions of dollars worth of weapons from U.S. arms manufacturers. Trump’s statement was issued in the wake of widespread demands in Washington that Trump reduce or even sever ties with the Saudi regime due to the likely role played by its Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, in the brutal murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

What made these Trump-era demands somewhat odd was that the Khashoggi murder was not exactly the first time the Saudi regime violated human rights and committed atrocities of virtually every type. For decades, the arbitrary imprisonment and murder of Saudi dissidents, journalists, and activists have been commonplace, to say nothing of the U.S./UK-supported devastation of Yemen which began during the Obama years. All of that took place as American presidents in the post-World War II order made the deep and close partnership between Washington and the tyrants of Riyadh a staple of U.S. policy in the Middle East.

Biden’s Food and Fuel Crisis — It’s the Policy, Stupid, by Tom Luongo

Biden and his WEF puppet masters want to keep the prices of food and fuel high so we’ll eat bugs and drive electric cars. From Tom Luongo at tomluongo.me:

So, how about those fuel prices? Fun ain’t it to spend more on filling up your tank than it costs for a decent meal at a second-rate restaurant?

So you thought you could afford that $45,000 truck and the $700/month payment.

Guess again.

After suckering everyone in with low monthly payments for obscenely overpriced clunkers, the Biden Junta spent 2021 setting up to let you out of your house because COVID was over, only to ensure you couldn’t afford to drive anywhere.

It was policy, folks. It’s always been policy.

Everything else they tell you is a lie.

High gas prices are NOT just a function of high oil prices, supported by purposeful disruptions to the market thanks to the slap-happy sanctions machines in DC and Brussels.

Biden Rocks the Middle East, by Philip Giraldi

You’ve got to keep an eye on these bastards. With everyone focused on the current disaster in Ukraine, the Biden administration is quietly creating more disasters in the Middle East and Africa. From Philip Giraldi at unz.com:

That dwindling band of observers that continues to express concern over the catastrophe that constitutes United States foreign policy under President Joe Biden have come to realize how the Ukraine situation is being used as cover for interventions and other similar mischief in other parts of the world. Recent reporting, for example, reveals that the Biden Administration has decided “to reestablish a persistent US military presence in Somalia to enable a more effective fight against al-Shabaab” in spite of the fact that “there is absolutely no constitutional authority for President Biden to send troops into Somalia or drop bombs on Somalia.” Nor does al-Shabaab represent a threat to Americans or American interests.

To be sure, the emphasis on Ukraine has a certain cogency as it is particularly dangerous and could lead to nuclear devastation in a situation where intervention by the United States was not only unwarranted but also unresponsive to any actual national interest of threat. And escalate it will if the White House continues on its current path. Ukrainian government sources are now stating that the United States is preparing to destroy the Russian Black Sea fleet to end the blockade of Ukraine’s ports. The commander of US forces in Europe General Christopher Cavoli seems to be confirming that report when he refers to the preparation of “military options” to help export Ukrainian grain.

Video: Tucker Carlson Warns “Disarming You Is The Point” Of Biden Gun Control Push, by Steve Watson

The gun controllers have always wanted to take away the firearms of those who don’t toe their line. From Steve Watson at summit.news:

Video: Tucker Carlson Warns “Disarming You Is The Point” Of Biden Gun Control Push

“The point of this, of course, is to disarm people who did not vote for Joe Biden”

Responding to Joe Biden’s announcement that he intends to institute unprecedented gun control laws, Tucker Carlson warned that the intention is to disarm those who didn’t vote for him.

“This is about saving the children, Joe Biden just told us, but how many lives would this new law save?” Carlson asked.

“Well, we know the answer. Zero. Not one,” Carlson ciontuned, explaining “We know that because there’s precisely no evidence at all and never has been that larger magazines somehow inspire mass shootings. But of course saving lives is not the point of this.”

“Disarming you is the point,” the host further urged.

“The point of this, of course, is to disarm people who did not vote for Joe Biden”

Biden Ramping Up Unconstitutional War in Somalia Again, by Mike Maharrey

One of the more obscure clauses in the Constitution says that presidents can wage war wherever and whenever they like. Presidents certainly wage war as if there were such a clause. From Mike Maharrey at tenthamendmentcenter.com:

President Joe Biden has ratcheted up America’s quiet little war in Somalia.

President Donald Trump directed a significant escalation of the long-running U.S. war in the  East African nation. In 2017, he loosened the rules of engagement for the drone war in Somalia. With the shackles removed, the U.S. military executed a record number of bombing missions. In 2019, the U.S. military conducted 63 airstrikes in Somalia, the most in any single year. It followed up with 52 strikes in 2020. That compares to 42 U.S. airstrikes in that country from 2007 to 2017.

Bombing dropped significantly after Biden took office and placed limits on drone strikes outside of active war zones. There were only five airstrikes reported in 2021.

Trump pulled out most of the 650 to 800 U.S. soldiers who were on the ground in Somalia late in his term. (He was responsible for sending most of those troops into the country to begin with.) Now, President Biden plans to send them back.

“President Biden has approved a request from the Secretary of Defense to reestablish a persistent U.S. military presence in Somalia to enable a more effective fight against al-Shabaab,” according to a senior administration official.

In fact, Trump didn’t actually end “boots on the ground” in Somalia. U.S. soldiers were simply redeployed to neighboring countries and apparently moved in and out of Somalia on “an episodic basis,” according to the same official.

Biden also gave the Pentagon the green light to target about a dozen al-Shabaab leaders. That means we will likely see a ramp-up in drone strikes.

Biden Plans To Cancel $10,000 In Student Debt Per Borrower Ahead Of Midterms, by Tyler Durden

Talk about buying votes. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

As soon as this weekend, President Biden could announce a plan to cancel $10k in student debt per borrower, according to WaPo, citing three people with knowledge of the matter.

Biden could make the announcement at the University of Delaware’s commencement ceremony on Saturday. The plan would apply to Americans who earned less than $150k in the previous year or less than 300k for married couples filing jointly.

On April 6, the White House announced it would extend the pause of federal student loan repayments through August 31. It wasn’t clear if the administration would extend the moratorium beyond this.

The decision to wipe out $10k of student debt per borrow who meets requirements comes as President Biden’s approval ratings collapse.

Notice how the number of stories in the news of “student debt loan forgiveness” is soaring ahead of the midterms, but Biden’s polling numbers remain cratered.

“No decisions have been made yet,” Vedant Petal, a White House spokesman, said Thursday.

Is Biden’s ‘Success’ Our Mess? By Victor Davis Hanson

Does every one of Biden’s many failures, by most people’s standards, count as successes by Biden and the democrats? From Victor Davis Hanson at realclearpolitics.com:

Is Biden's 'Success' Our Mess?

(AP Photo/Susan Walsh)

If an administration deliberately wished to cause havoc on the border, to ensure fuel was nearly unaffordable, to create a crime wave, to spark 1970s hyperinflation, and to rekindle racial tensions, what would it have done differently than what President Joe Biden has done?

So is Biden malicious, incompetent, or a wannabe left-wing ideologue?

When pressed about inflation and fuel price hikes, Biden either blames someone or something else, gets mad at the questioner, or claims former President Donald Trump did it.

His administration apparently believes things are going well and according to plan.

When polls disagree, his team either believes the American people are brainwashed or that they themselves have not supplied sufficient propaganda. So they never pivot or compromise, but rededicate themselves to continued failure.

Why? Apparently, what most in the country see as disasters, Biden envisions as success.
