SLL found the following article more interesting than Obama’s SOTU emissions or how much funny money Mario Draghi will create in exchange for how many, and what kind of, bonds. Of course, one of the main reasons SLL exists is to ignore, make fun of, or question authorities like Barack and Mario, which is now a sign of mental illness. Only the Sheeple Are Sane

This post is about an issue that is by now a bit dated (though the topic as such certainly isn’t), but we have only just become aware of it and it seemed to us worth rescuing it from the memory hole. In late 2013, the then newest issue of the American Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM for short) defined a new mental illness, the so-called “oppositional defiant disorder” or ODD.

As TheMindUnleashed.org informs us, the definition of this new mental illness essentially amounts to declaring any non-conformity and questioning of authority as a form of insanity. According to the manual, ODD is defined as:

[…] an “ongoing pattern of disobedient, hostile and defiant behavior,” symptoms include questioning authority, negativity, defiance, argumentativeness, and being easily annoyed.

In short, as Natural News put it: According to US psychiatrists, only the sheeple are sane.

Every time a new issue of the DSM appears, the number of mental disorders grows – and this growth is exponential. A century ago there were essentially 7 disorders, 80 years ago there were 59, 50 years ago there were 130, and by 2010 there were 374 (77 of which were “found” in just seven years).

    If anyone is ODD, it is the traitors in the Federal government. They refuse to accept that the real authority is from almighty God and that here in America:” That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,”

    The traitors in government are out of control. They have long ago departed from doing what’s best for the people, and have instead chosen to serve themselves, and the central banks. They play us for fools.

  2. I’ve seen several articles recently that express outrage at this ODD diagnoses.

    Not to detract from the dangerous power given into the hands of the psychological/psychiatric industry, but this diagnosis has existed since the original DSM IV which came out in 1994 — twenty years ago.

    Granted, the DSM V (2013) made some changes to the diagnosis; but nothing that would make a good diagnosis into an outrageous one. That is, it may have been outrageous from 1994 until today; but it hasn’t suddenly BECOME a dangerous and outrageous diagnosis now.

    Both DSM IV and DSM V indicate that the diagnosis is only appropriate for children (no younger than 6, and no older than 18). Whether psychiatrists adhere to that rule is another matter. It seems to me that it is at least as dangerous to CORRECTLY diagnose ODD based on the behavior of an eight-year-old child, as it is to try to inappropriately apply the diagnosis to an adult.

    But, then — at least to my way of thinking — there’s danger inherent in the practice of psychiatry at any level, and at any age. There’s also danger in making NO attempt to understand, diagnose, and treat mental illness. As years go by, it seems, the former danger begins to outweigh the latter.
