From an email from RK to Matt Walsh, who wrote “The Most Whiney, Sensitive, Thin-Skinned, Easily Offended Society in the History of the World,” SLL, 4/5/15:
Matt!
Love the blog, man. Thanks for it. I’m a sophomore at a college that shall go nameless. I saw your Twitter tirade tonight about micro-aggressions and I thought I’d let you know that my university has launched a “campaign” to make us all aware of our unconscious biases and microaggressions that serve to otherize minority groups…
Today a girl in one of my classes suggested that pulling out a chair or opening a car door for a woman could be a microaggression because it insinuates that she is incapable of doing it herself. Lots of people INCLUDING THE PROFESSOR agreed! I feel like I’m surrounded by crazy people…

I hope RK is not at one of those colleges that cost $60,000 a year to attend. It sounds like RK has the right attitude about what’s being taught there. A lot of money is being spent in this country to send kids to colleges from which they will emerge stupider than when they went in, but feeling like they’ve actually learned something. If my pride and joy came home from college and used the word “otherize,” I’d demand my money back. I’d pursue a lawsuit to the highest court in the land to get it.
group-entitled drivel-talk is these days ubiquitous. Watched/listened to a Utube 9/11 video recently…the infobabe kept saying “efforting”, as in, “we are efforting to find that out”
Were you microagressing or just expressionizing another of your subconscious hostilisms about the children.
I don’t know; that’s forever who was offended by my post to decide.
