  1. Left me with concerns. While I see at this time even a CNN poll is saying Trump won – that isn’t how I see it. I go with even 🙁 was hoping for a DJT slam dunk but that didn’t happen. I am reminded that Romney won the first debate. I was looking for a more Kennedy vs. Nixon result.

    • As I recall, after the 1960 JFK-Nixon debate, it was determined that those who had watched it on TV declared that JFK had won, whereas those who listened to it on radio said that Nixon had won.
The difference between visual perceptions and those who actually listened to the words being spoken.
Kennedy was visually superior, well groomed, self assured, and wearing a dignified dark suit. Nixon, on the other hand, was suffering from a virus, looked worn and gaunt (his notorious ‘five o’clock shadow’ notwistanding), and wore a light colored suit which did not look as ‘professional’ on TV. I don’t believe he ever appeared in a light colored suit again.

  2. Did not watch.

  3. I personally feel that Donald Trump missed opportunities to make either good points or good defenses of positions. Pretty much missed the boat about her email scandal and dishonesty in general.
He seemed to be on his Best Behavior, but he probably should have engaged in a mock debate or two with a campaign aide as ‘Hillary’ surrogate. He was a bit off his game, but the disallowal of audience responses may have contributed to that. He seems to thrive on audience feedback at such events.
I also am convinced that Hillary must have been wearing one of her earpieces to receive coaching in responses and ‘facts’ and figures. I don’t think she is that quick ‘on her feet’ in accessing information from memory.
That big black dude with the autoinjector must have given her a booster shot just before the debate…..
No coughing…. No fainting spells…. and her catheter bag much have been super sized for the event
Or else she has a very talented doppelganger…..
    .

  4. I’m not going to vote for either one of those mendacious, power hungry, megalomania driven, but profoundly ignorant scumbags. I do however, think The Big Blowfish (i.e. Trump) got the upper hand in Round One…

  5. On margin, Trump won, but he missed a lot of great opportunities to take her out.

  6. After listening to the first few minutes of Trump’s opening, I turned it off. Doing so renders me unqualified to judge the specifics of the “debate.”

As to the context within which the debate took place, I remain imminently qualified to judge. Our founders would be appalled, disgusted, and not optimistic for the future of their profound ideas, as am I.

We have likely run out of time to prevent the turmoil of Strauss & Howe’s “Fourth Turning.”

  7. 12 minutes or so in. my head exploded. Sorry, I just can’t handle it. I went fishing.

  8. I also bailed after 15 minutes or so.Hillary was very articulate and succeeded at sounding “reasonable” but her entire political prescription for the country is a demonstrable fantasy. Hillary is such an easy target on so many levels but Trump has no idea how to take her down. He is inarticulate and clueless. In the absence of reasoned counter arguments hers became the only viable narrative in front of the national TV audience. Would have loved to see Cruz or Rubio debate her. I’m now resigned to four more years of failed Democrat policies and governance but I’m beginning to think it might be better for Hillary and the Democrats to take the blame for the impending economic collapse than the Republicans under Trump.

  9. I was hoping to see Shitlery do a face-plant or have a seizure.

  10. Married with children comes to mind. I’m embarrassed to admit I watched both.
I expected her to be doped and full of water pills and Holt to double team
Trump but didn’t expect him to let them get away with it like Mittens did.

  11. DJT was under-prepared and ill-disciplined. Very disappointed. Still a long time before Election Day and the voting fraud operation by the Dems will play a part, as will the millions of vehement Trumpistas…

However, if the next two turd-wrassles go the same way, I’m betting on war in the spring over the 2A via the anti-gun Scalia replacement HRC will name in her inaugural address.

Thanks for all you do here, sir.
