From Bob Dylan (born 1941), American singer-songwriter, author, and painter, who has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades:
A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do.
Due respect to Mr. Dylan, but an addendum to his quote is necessary.
“A man is a success if he gets up in the morning and gets to bed at night, and in between he does what he wants to do.” I would add, “and can continue doing so indefinitely”.
There have been several times in my life where I met Mr. Dylan’s criteria. Those times were called “unemployment”, not “success”.
