No Posting Today and a Thought on Garbage

This will be the only post today, but regular posting will resume tomorrow.

On another matter, at the end of “The Gray Curtain Descends, Part One” I promised Part Two this week. I had an article all ready for final editing and posting today, but reading through it last night I realized it was mostly garbage. It happens sometimes. I would suggest that writers don’t become good writers until they develop the ability to spot their own garbage and then do something about it. I try to make sure my garbage ends up in my computer’s trash bin and not on SLL or, if it’s a book, on Amazon. I’d rather break a promise (I hate writing to deadlines, even my own) than post garbage and I don’t want to get the new year off to a bad start. I’m going back to the drawing board and the article will be ready when it’s ready.

Thank you for your patience and Happy New Year.

Robert

  1. Robert, we love you. Thank You for your work. I had a laugh at your final words “… the article will be ready when it’s ready.” For some 50 years I have restored classic British Cars. I’m getting older these days and moving slower but I’m still doing what I have always loved and that is My Work. These days my customers sometimes have to hear the same words about their cars and my restoration work. “It Will Be Done When It’s Ready” are words of brilliance, patience, and wisdom. All the best to ALL of us for this New Year. And Thank You again.

    • Right back at you. Thank you and all the best for the New Year to you and yours. And keep restoring those cars, my brother does the same and it’s a joy to watch him work.

  2. It was infected by the last year. It caught the bad luck. So I wish you good luck for the new year!
