CHICAGO — Mayor Brandon Johnson advised Chicago reporters to stop using the word “Chicago” when describing anything that happens in Chicago because of all the negative connotations associated with Chicago.
“You can call it ‘The Windy City’ or ‘Downtown Deep Dish’ but do not, under any circumstances call it Chicago,” said the mayor of Chicago. “That just wouldn’t be appropriate.”
The city formerly known as Chicago has been under particular strain of late due to large “mob-like” gatherings disrupting businesses with “loot-like” behavior. Mayor Brandon hopes that calling the city literally anything else will cause the problem to go away.
“There’s history in this city. I don’t want to be responsible for the birth of more ‘baby Al Capones’,” Brandon said. “Only by hiding our problems with inoffensive language can we truly overcome them.”
“And you can put that quote on an inspirational calendar,” he added.
At publishing time, the crime rate of the City-Which-Must-Not-Be-Named continued to rise for some reason.

Umm.. I am a certified LE officer in Illinois, not anywhere close to 100 yoa, and each LE award certificate issued is personally signed by the State Governor (in Illinois, anyway.)
My certification was signed off on by Jim Edgar (R), and although I was a little young at the time, I seem to recall his predecessor being ”Big” Jim Thompson (R). I can confirm Edgar’s excellent penmanship as I look at that certificate everyday in my office diploma wall, as well as his Republican origins.
I also remember growing up in Chicago during the 70s and 80s, at which time I genuinely would not have wanted to live anywhere else.. it was a truly unique ‘2nd city’ place that was once the manufacturing powerhouse of the planet..
but also a place that allowed you to go see a Tyrannosaurus skeleton at the museum, or take your girlfriend to the top of what was then the ‘Sears’ Tower at a whim.
The fate of ‘Sears’ (once a US manufacturing retail powerhouse as was Walmart at one time) and Chicago manufacturing are linked intimately to the current state of the city and most other ‘free-trade city’ recipients, which has nothing to do with democrats, but a lot to do with republicans who worked tirelessly to outsource US industry for a payday from the global chamber of commerce.
If you notice, every single failed and dysfunctional state (IL, CA, NY..) were the original launching points of the.. drum roll.. Republican party!
Everyplace that this crooked business party has infested meets the same fate, going back through the Whigs and Federalists, because when there is something of value to sell off, you eventually have obscenely corrupt people who come to power who will take the money to sell off even the society itself.
I never saw a SINGLE homeless person in NW Chicago, until post-NAFTA – Today, this is omni-present. IF you cannot make a linkage between what the Republican outsourcing inflicted on americans and this recent rise in societal collapse, it would also probably explain why you never heard of Gov Edgar or Big Jim Thompson.
The current Democrat party is just a grab-bag collection point of those who never had any historical place in the party when it was once a working class party. While the Democrats are now mere squatters occupying a party structure that no longer represents any sane positions, the Republicans were the actual wrecking ball that took down the structure.
The Republicans, now fleeing from their northern cities of origin, ruined by their own scams and financial betrayal, will inflict this same exact ruin on the South as a last redoubt, because they have learned nothing from the past misdeeds, they have never accepted responsibility, made amends, nor acknowledged them, or held their own accountable.
