In the general sense of things, we’re not going to vote our way out of this communist coup. They took over, just like Yeltsin in Russia when they took down the USSR, but communism didn’t stop there. While the Russians have strived for “democracy” many still have a soviet mind and while they don’t want communism back, they can’t let go of 70 years of indoctrination without a struggle.

Our coup is only a couple of years old, but we still have the old pandemic mind and not enough of us have the 1970s American mind. There was a collapse of the republic during the pandemic, when so many thought themselves being just good citizens were backed into a corner and made to accept the soviet-style of governance.

To see Russia striving to be more like America and America striving to be more like the Soviet Union is sad, because I’ve spent most of my life trying to keep this from happening and I realize I can’t, that not enough will rise. There are some encouraging signs, but it’s like whipped cream on a turd. There’s still a feeling of being steered, manipulated, mollified to some degree to keep oneself silent, to wait, but I’m tired of waiting.

The longer we allow ourselves to live under these conditions of the coup: the corruption of government; the abandonment of the rule of law; the two-tiered justice system; the attack on our wealth and jobs, the more it’s cemented in the minds of subsequent generations that the individual is not supreme, but subservient. The indoctrination has begun on all levels, not just schools. Every day is another layer of acceptance, another brick we will have to take down. We have to stop it.
