Russell Brand disgusts me. I like neither his affected accent nor his affected mannerisms. I abhor his “joke” about raping women and his November 23rd 2007 Irish behaviour, where he invited 12 women in his audience to have sex with him backstage, which would have resulted in him getting a very severe beat down only a few years earlier when the Troubles were in full swing.
But the really interesting thing about his rape “joke” and his Dublin behaviour is that both were totally acceptable to my betters if not to me at the time; the audience there and elsewhere laughed along to his “jokes” and almost all the women this domineering creep chose went backstage with him and no men protested, let alone gave him a well-deserved beat down.
So what has changed? Why are NATO’s amorals taking the moral high ground now with this creep? Why are the British and Irish media splashing this scumbag’s alleged sexual crimes all over their front pages and news bulletins? Why did Rupert Murdoch’s media empire and state-controlled British media combine to do this blitzkrieg on Brand when they never did a similar number on Tony Blair, Jimmy Savile, Lord Boothby, Maurice Oldfield, Cyril Smith or any of their countless other reprobates?
