I don’t usually either praise or disparage other bloggers. Excerpting with attribution is the sincerest form of praise, and disparaging wastes valuable time and energy. Today, Independence Day, I’m making an exception on the praise side. el gato malo is a cat-themed site run by a liberty-minded blogger who doesn’t believe in capital letters but who does believe in originality, humor, and incisive intellectual analyses. I’ve excerpted a number of his articles so his work is not unfamiliar to most SLL readers. I spend $5 a month to help support his Substack. Every Sunday he puts out two meme pools. The laughs I get more than justifies the $5. I occasionally use individual memes (with attribution) on SLL, consistent with the Fair Use Doctrine governing excerpts and quotes in the copyright laws.
