Our minds and our speech are what make us uniquely human. Our ability to conceive and communicate our personal view of the world around us is a central aspect of ourselves and of our person. To compromise or limit the ability of an individual to exercise freedom of thought and speech is to make that individual less human. This type of activity is not only intrinsically oppressive and fundamentally damaging to the human soul, it is a form of theft.
