Famously, Barbara was unhappy that an image of her Malibu cliff-top residence was shared as an example of California coastal erosion. She sued, causing a stink, and an image that had been viewed SIX TIMES got viewed 420,000 times the following month.
The internet is on fire this week, over some comments Elon Musk made in reference to immigration and, specifically, the US H1-B program.
Musk made a number of incendiary and disparaging comments, told people to GO F$CK themselves, and stated he’d go “to war” supporting the program. This did not go over well, at all, with most people, particularly President-Elect Trump’s base.
Musk has experienced the Streisand effect before, only two years ago[!], when he attempted to shut down a Twitter account, @elonjet, that used publicly-available flight data to track Elon’s private jet. The ban triggered widespread press coverage and criticism of his efforts to ban speech.
Thus, I was a bit surprised Elon stepped into this mess:

Earlier this year, in October, I wrote a post about port automation and the East Coast strike by US dock workers, “Paying the Bridge Troll, Automation and the Port Strike“. In the post, I describe it as a power struggle over dividing a pie. That is, how would the three major players, the shippers, the dockworkers, and the government (as tariff collector) get of the financial pie? I was pretty certain the shippers would win and that the ports would get automated.
