What follows are all of the Amazon reviews for The Gray Radiance, verbatim from Amazon. All of the reviews give the novel 5 stars out of 5 stars. The only problem with the reviews are that there are not enough of them.

This is book 2 of a rumored trilogy.
The author tells us that it is not necessary to read the Golden Pinnacle in order to enjoy this but I am glad I did as it helped me understand the back story of where Nick came from as well as why he was so driven to solve the mystery of his father.
Reading Golden Pinnacle made this outstanding book even better.
In many ways this is a more important book than Pinnacle, based on the factual elements being more relatable to today’s audience.
Gore’s writing style is sublime yet subtle, no beating you over the head to make his point.
My only gripe is that the pleasure of reading this ended way too soon. Pinnacle was a significantly longer book but then the subject matter covered a longer time period.
Radiance, like Pinnacle is one of the rare works that can be enjoyed multiple times. Each reading uncovers more depth as well as Gore’s subtle wit.
This work deserves wide recognition.

5.0 out of 5 Stars A Thrilling Masterpiece Deserving of the Edgar Award for Best Novel

A page-turning Masterpiece! This book blew me away. It’s as riveting, engrossing and well-written as any of today’s international best-sellers including all of Dan Brown’s books (The Da Vinci Code, etc.) — but it’s even better because it’s more thought-provoking, important, and memorable.
The book is so outstanding and exceptional that it’s deserving of a prestigious book award — perhaps, the Edgar Award for Best Novel or the Barry Award for Best Thriller?
Spellbound you will be by not only how the author interweaves the compelling, gripping plot and subplots with its important themes, but also how you’ll get drawn into the main character’s life, his journey and all the dangers, opportunities, and mysteries he encounters. Funny how there will be moments when you feel like you’re actually following Nick’s true-life story from the war-torn streets of Saigon to the remote boonies of a hideaway bolthole.
What makes a truly great book? Important themes, original, compelling plots, memorable characters, and a style that focuses attention on the story, not the writer. This novel checks all these boxes in such a remarkable, sublime way.

About once in a decade I come across a book so remarkable, so well written, so absorbing that, as they say, I couldn’t put it down. Robert Gore’s “The Gray Radiance” is one such book. Fascinating, real human characters with all their complex life events, and every emotion from war fierceness to passionate love, grabbed this reader in every scene. I marveled at this author’s familiarity with every nuance of human struggles, every level of manners of speech, from family tragedy to Vietnam war obscenities. Our young main character, possibly hero, Nick Wozniak, seeks to solve the mystery of who was his father, in the midst of governmental and martial menace, on the threshold of imminent destruction. I marveled at the authenticity of each character’s style of talking and the authenticity of geographical and historical references, even in the early 1900’s and on multiple continents. It’s a book I’ll want to reread more than once. And it should be made into a movie.

Oh man, what a great story, I fell asleep 3 nights in a row with the book on my chest. Second in a trilogy and the first one written like 10 years ago, The Golden Pinnacle, was another beaut. Not really necessary to read the first but if you haven’t read either, I’d start there.
I hope to hell Robert doesn’t wait another 10 years to drop the 3rd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent and revealing

This was an excellently written mystery/thriller encompassing the media, Vietnam and World War II. Nick Wozniak’s journey from a young man searching for a future winds up spending a great deal of time in the past, in search of his own identity through the discovery of his father’s identity and demise.
One of the completely endearing aspects of this book was the discovery of the true Vietnam through Nick’s reporting of it as the war raged. There was an intimate view of the Vietnamese society that seems like it could only come from someone who had been on the ground.
The insights into the CIA and the company’s methods and viewpoints was another compelling part of the book. This was a great read from a talented writer, please look at his other works as well.

Exciting story wrapped around a history lesson. If you think the Vietnam war was necessary, I suggest you read this book. War is a racket, every time, every where. Well fleshed out characters and a riveting story makes for an excellent read.
