It’s hard to love someone who claims his right to your wealth at the point of a gun. From Eric Peters at ericpetersautos:

The former Republican lieutenant governor of Georgia, Geoff Duncan, has announced he has switched parties and become a Democrat because it makes it easier for him to love his neighbor:
“My journey to becoming a Democrat started well before Donald Trump tried to steal the 2020 election in Georgia,” he posted on X. “My decision was centered around my daily struggle to love my neighbor, as a Republican.”
This is a fascinating and revelatory statement because it explains our predicament. Duncan – like all Democrats and many Republicans – believes that “love” flows from the barrel of a government gun. He does not say this, of course. It is possible he is insensate enough rather than duplicitous enough to actually believe that government “love” does not require government force. He may actually believe that government just “loves” people and does things for them out of the goodness of its heart and the manna it just somehow has to “love” them with.
“GOP policies on tax cuts, health insurance and immigration pushed me to switch political parties,” Duncan told the newspapers.

No shirking comrade, we’re all in this together. (honk)
Georgia? CCP.
Did comrade Duncan have a sudden influx of shekels?
