The Price of a Lie, by T.L. Davis

A political system built on a foundation of lies will eventually crumble. From T.L. Davis at tldavis.substack.com:

Our last day of shooting. We wrapped up at the Memento Museum, a place that houses the remaining vestiges of the statue of Stalin (leaving only the boots) cut off by the revolutionists of 1956 in Hungary. They pulled down the vigorous statue of Stalin and wound up cutting it off with torches. It was a monumental achievement (pun intended) for a group of workers and students.

The museum houses the story of the revolution and our Director of Photography, Imre Juhasz, did a masterful job of filming as he told us his story of visiting the site in grade school, where they were instructed to recite an ode to the communist party. The absolute dichotomy of thought required to do so is amazing and quite spectacularly illustrates the modern communist themes running through the US right now.

The revolution was not against communism per se, it was against the rigorous Soviet communism forced upon them complete with oppression of the secret police, the AVO men. They simply wanted some reforms, but the crowd turned it into calling for the removal of Russian troops and other reforms. They didn’t understand that the AVO men protected the lie of socialism. Even the so-called successful socialist countries of Western Europe rely on the capitalistic American military to defend them. Instead of defending themselves with their treasury, they put the savings from that into social programs. It’s all a lie, because that’s what I first saw in it when I studied it.

Understanding that Antifa regularly bemoans the “fascist” government of Donald Trump, while acting in quite fascistic ways never ceases to amaze me. It’s like watching the insane try to describe what seems like a perfectly natural event to them, but is a confusing twisted account of some impossibility. One can only blink at while they struggle to find some logic, even irrational logic, in it all.

The Orwell quote about believing two contradictory things comes to mind.

The workers utopia with equality of results for all versus reality.

  3. Human mind is capable of believing ANY Absurdity.

Confirmation bias then kicks in to keep it alive and growing.
