The U.S. can no longer ally with much of Western Europe and Britain, as those nations continue their descent into pure lunacy. Only a few Eastern European nations are fighting for sanity. From T.L. Davis at tldavis.substack.com:

This post by Frank Furedi head of the MCC think tank in Brussels points us to the European political conundrum of having one’s cake and wanting to eat it, too. They want to do the most depraved, harmful and egregious stuff in the name of democracy and when the people respond to these insults and injuries, it’s democracy that has failed.
As J.D. Vance reminded Europe in his speech in Munich, they are not holding themselves to a strict enough definition of democracy, using the term like a toilet, dumping all of the vile filth of the civic body into it and blaming the toilet for the stench.
What most people call “democracy” isn’t even that. The only democratic part of most “democracies” is that their representatives are popularly elected. That’s it. It is not a direct democracy where the people vote on issues as they arise. The dangers of that are warned against in the oft-used metaphor of two wolves and a lamb voting on what’s for dinner.
All forms of government are a bargain with the people. Some pretend that they’re a community of people who magically appeared in the seats of power, but are otherwise just one of the common folk; working for common goals with common values. That is until the common folk choose differently, then, the common folk must be reeducated, imprisoned or shot.
