From Vladimir Lenin (1870-1924), Russian revolutionary, the leader of the Bolshevik communist party, the first Premier of the Soviet Union and the main theorist of Leninism,   as translated in Lenin : A Biography, by Robert Service (2000):

Hang (and make sure that the hanging takes place in full view of the people) no fewer than one hundred known landlords, rich men, bloodsuckers. … Do it in such a fashion that for hundreds of kilometres around the people might see, tremble, know, shout: “they are strangling, and will strangle to death, the bloodsucking kulaks”.

  1. Actually, Lenin has the right idea, just the wrong target – understandable, since he was a premier member of the
    class that needs targeted.
