How come you never see a headline like “Psychic Wins Lottery”?
I have always used an example very much like this to demonstrate the sheer nonsense of such magical thinking.
Place this ad the paper (remember the old days?) or online:
“ATTENTION ALL PSYCHICS! $100,000,000 PRIZE! CALL TO WIN!!!”
And don’t include the phone number.
(Now that I think about it, this is pretty much exactly what James Rand and The Sceptic Society has been offering forever now!)
