Here’s the Shockingly Small Number of People Who Died From Only the Coronavirus, by Bronson Stocking

Only 6 percent of the people who have been listed as dying from the coronavirus actually died exclusively from the coronavirus, the other 94 percent had comorbidities. From Bronson Stocking at townhall.com:

Instead of protecting the vulnerable – the elderly in nursing homes and those with comorbidities – health “experts” recommended locking everyone up and prescribing for Americans a wide range of ailments such as depression, suicide, missed early cancer screenings, unemployment, substance abuse, and poverty.Something is driving the liberal media’s morbid obsession with the U.S. death toll. The media is doing everything it can to blame the virus on President Trump, a virus that originated in China and is killing people all over the world. It’s been widely known for months that people with comorbidities and the elderly are at higher risk for severe illness due to COVID-19, so why is the media clamoring for prolonged shutdowns and keeping schools closed? Is it because they see a connection between prolonged shutdowns, a weakened economy and the Democrats’ electoral chances in November?

Everyone with eyes should see how the Democrats and the media have weaponized the coronavirus against the president. Nothing made this more clear when the media and “public health experts” green-lit left-wing protests over the past few months. They know the virus poses little risk to young people healthy enough to go out and loot, tear down statues and vandalize property.

Sweden – Number of Covid deaths plummeting even as the number cases rises, by Robert

Sweden was a renegade during the coronavirus outbreak, not locking down its population. When its day-to-day death numbers were rising coranavirus commissars the world over screeched at Sweden’s criminal foolishness for not locking down. Now its day-to-day death numbers are falling precipitously even as its case numbers tick up, and its death rate per million population is no worse and is in some cases better than the rest of Europe, which brings up the question: why did the rest of Europe have to go into lockdown (and destroy the European economy)? From Robert at iceagenow.info:

Similar pattern in the United States! Number of deaths declining rapidly.

________

In case you weren’t aware of this, Sweden refused to go into a lockdown mode. Restaurants remained open, bars remained open, the entire country remained open, all because Swedish authorities decided to let the virus run its course. They expected the country to reach what is known as “herd immunity.” And they succeeded!

At first, coronavirus cases rose quite rapidly, as expected. But even as the number of new cases continued climbing, the number deaths began declining. I don’t know that the proper word is “plummeting,” but as you can see from the graph below, the decline is very pronounced.

“Over the past ten weeks, the number of daily reported COVID-19 cases in Sweden has more than doubled, yet the number of deaths has plummeted,” writes Tony Heller. “The vast majority of deaths in Sweden were the result of nursing homes getting infected.”

“Their strategy has been to get the low risk population exposed so that they can reach herd immunity, so more cases is to be expected.”

Sweden Coronavirus: 67,667 Cases and 5,310 Deaths – Worldometer

“The same pattern is occurring in the US,” says Tony. The number of daily deaths is declining markedly.

United States Coronavirus: 2,681,811 Cases and 128,783 Deaths – Worldometer

The point here is that the number of new cases is meaningless propaganda. Many of those new cases came as a result of more testing, and many more came from what I consider fraudulent reporting.

And, as reader Michael Jenkins correctly points out, “even the death rate reported is, in all likelihood, grossly exaggerated.”

Forget the number of “new cases.” What we need to keep our eyes on is the death rate.

The press continues to lie about COVID-19 to generate fear, by Robert Zimmerman

If you don’t have the facts or science, you have to resort to fear. From Robert Zimmerman at behindtheblack.com:

hey just won’t stop lying: If you have been reading the mainstream leftist press, you are probably now under the impression that the COVID-19 epidemic is once again raging across the land, destroying whole communities while spreading out-of-control everywhere because some Republican governors thought it was now okay to come out of hiding.

The CNN article at the link above is typical, reporting in lurid detail how multiple states across the country are now experiencing record levels of new coronavirus cases.

Oh my! We are all gonna die!

Surge My Fat Ass, by Jim Quinn

As Ron Paul notes, case numbers are going up because more tests are being performed. However, case numbers and deaths are going down. From Jim Quinn at theburningplatform.com:

Misinformation is rampant. As Hardscrabble likes to say. “It’s the flu bro.”

There is no surge. The left wing media are praying for a surge to derail any economic rebound before the November election.

So, the fake news networks scream about the “surge” in Texas or Florida when the actual increase is around 100 cases.

Deaths and hospitalizations continue to decline. Those are the facts.

Focus on the Covid-19 Death Rate, by Gregory van Kipnis

How to make sense of the Covid-19 numbers. from Gregory van Kipnis at aier.org:

In the saga of the virus and the lockdown, the wisdom of the crowds, that is the wisdom of each of us, was thwarted by bad data, perhaps intentionally bad. On the other hand, the ersatz wisdom of the collective bureaucracy in federal, state and local health agencies was based on crafted data. In the end data didn’t matter, as the bureaucracies were more concerned with their natural territorial imperative, which is to rule and control.

The most frightening aspect of the coronavirus-19 (COVID-19) epidemic in the US is that it brought about exaggeratedly heightened fear of death. That fear, once magnified to proportions which become palpable to the individual, became the basis for dreadful economic and medical policies from governments and crushed the natural optimism of the public.

In early days, we were caught in a squeeze of conflicting information. Was COVID-19 a bioweapon gone rogue and destined to indiscriminately wipe out young and old? Or, was it another bad flu or perhaps an extremely bad flu? After all, initial information showed the victims were concentrated in a nursing home in Kirkland, Washington.

No cases were reported amongst the homeless on West Coast streets. No deaths among children were reported. And in the closed world of cruise liners and later a military ship, there were lots of early cases and some deaths. As time passed, there was little more bad news. We should have been suspicious of the data.

Why a Common Cold Could Make a Person “Immune” to COVID-19 Thus Accounting for the Large Numbers of False Positive “COVID” Test Results that Allowed Fauci’s Infamous “Over-reaction”, by Gary G. Kohls, MD

Hospitals are being instructed to fudge Covid-19 deaths upward, and are being given a financial incentive to do so. From Gary G. Kohls, M.D. at lewrockwell.com:

It has long been known that benign coronavirus species cause 15% of common colds. This reality was recently mentioned by an internationally-famous virologist from Germany, in an interview where he also admitted that laboratory confirmation of COVID-19 is next to impossible given the high incidence of both false-positive COVID PCR swab tests and false positive COVID serum antibody tests. Apparently, neither test seems to be able to distinguish between the benign coronavirus that causes common colds and the more serious coronavirus that causes COVID-19!!

Dr Fauci’s ignorance of (or his failure to reveal) that fact justified his oft-repeated assertion as he did his media rounds and White House press conferences prior to the economic shut-down:

I think we should be overly aggressive (even if we) get criticized for overreacting. I think Americans should be prepared … to hunker down.”

Anthony Fauci, as everybody should know, is the long-time director of the CDC’s NIAID (National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He is, significantly, also a holder of many HIV vaccine patents and the holder of the patent for the Sanofi-Pasteur Corporation’s Dengue virus vaccine that recently killed 600 Philippine children.)

Another expert, Dr Christian Drosten, pictured above, is the Director of Berlin University’s Institute of Virology. He is known at “Germany’s real face of the coronavirus crisis”.

In March, US Deaths from COVID-19 Totaled Less Than 2 Percent of All Deaths, by Ryan McMaken

It’s not clear that Covid-19 is actually increasing deaths in the US. Trying to find out is made harder by procedures that liberally attribute deaths to the coranavirus. From Ryan McMaken at mises.org:

About 2.9 million people die in the United States each year from all causes. Monthly this total ranges from around 220,000 in the summertime to more than 280,000 in winter.

In recent decades, flu season has often peaked sometime from January to March, and this is a major driver in total deaths. The average daily number of deaths from December through March is over eight thousand.

So far, total death data is too preliminary to know if there has been any significant increase in total deaths as a result of COVID-19, and this is an important metric, because it gives us some insight into whether or not COVID-19 is driving total death numbers well above what would otherwise be expected.

Indeed, according to some sources, it is not clear that total deaths have increased significantly as a result of COVID-19. In a March 30 article for The Spectator, former UK National Health Service pathologist John Lee noted that the current number of deaths from COVID-19 does not indicate that the UK is experiencing “excess deaths.” Lee writes:

The simplest way to judge whether we have an exceptionally lethal disease is to look at the death rates. Are more people dying than we would expect to die anyway in a given week or month? Statistically, we would expect about 51,000 to die in Britain this month. At the time of writing, 422 deaths are linked to Covid-19—so 0.8 per cent of that expected total. On a global basis, we’d expect 14 million to die over the first three months of the year. The world’s 18,944 coronavirus deaths represent 0.14 per cent of that total. These figures might shoot up but they are, right now, lower than other infectious diseases that we live with (such as flu). Not figures that would, in and of themselves, cause drastic global reactions.
