Gun Sanctuary Movement Erupts, 61% of US Counties Now Protect Second Amendment, by Tyler Durden

How will the federal government enforce more stringent gun control laws, much less outright confiscation, when for so much of the country the Second Amendment is a bright red line? From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

One of the most important stories of the year, so far, is the massive surge in Second Amendment sanctuaries at the state, county, and local levels, entirely ignored by liberal media.

According to Noah Davis of sanctuarycounties.com“1,930 counties that are protected by Second Amendment Sanctuary legislation at either the state or county level… this represents 61.39% of all of the counties in the United States of America.”

Virginia goes full retard, by hedgeless horseman

January 20 looms as a big day in Virginia. It may be a turning point, when many people start adopting the revolutionary mindset. From hedgeless horseman at zerohedge.com:

Dear ZH readers, you may recall that I have mentioned Max Alexander, from time to time, recommending his books and the excellent training he provides for surviving hostile environments.  Although his Velocity Training Center is in West Virginia, Max lives in Virginia, where he and all liberty-loving Virginians have found themselves facing a new liberal governor, Red Ralph, a Democrat state house of representatives, and Democrat state senate, which are clearly hell bent on destroying the Bill of Rights, especially the Second Amendment, and criminalizing our natural right to defend our life, liberty, and property.

Max has been writing some good stuff about this potentially, if not probably, volatile situation on his blog and forum, and I am going to re-post two of these items, below, for our discussion.  I hope you read this, watch the videos, and pay very close attention to what happens in Richmond, Virginia, on the 20th of this month, Lobby Day.

Localism in the 2020s (Part 1) – The 2nd Amendment Sanctuary Movement, by Michael Krieger

Be it the Second Amendment sanctuary movement, the immigration sanctuary movement, or the legalized pot movement, the provinces are rebelling against the far off overlords in Washington. From Michael Krieger at libertyblitzkrieg.com:

Many of you probably have heard of the second amendment sanctuary movement, which consists of municipalities and counties across the U.S. passing resolutions pledging not to enforce additional gun control measures infringing upon the right to bear arms. The current movement traces its origins back to Effingham County in southern Illinois, which passed a resolution in April 2018 calling the county a second amendment “sanctuary”, essentially a vow to ignore gun control legislation proposed by Illinois state lawmakers. This particular tactic gained traction not just within Illinois, where 67 of 102 counties have now passed similar resolutions, but throughout the country.

The movement started gaining more attention over the past couple of months following the blistering momentum it found in Virginia after Democrats won the state legislature in November. As of this writing, 87 out of Virginia’s 95 counties have passed such resolutions and it’s important to note that virtually all of them were passed in the two months since the election. In other words, this is happening at a very rapid pace.

Virginia Activates Official Militia in Response to Gun Confiscation Threats. Lawmakers Want To Make This a Felony. By Daisy Luther

Future historians may say the Second American Revolution started in Virginia. From Daisy Luther at theorganicprepper.com:

As Virginia lawmakers prepare to pass a draconian gun control bill that would make most guns in the state illegal, Tazewell County has formed an official active militia as per the Second Amendment to the Constitution.

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

To all of those who like to mock gun owners and ask if they’re going to fight tyranny in a militia, Virginia’s answer is a clear and adamant “yes.” That’s exactly what they’re planning to do.

After the most recent election, the state’s House and Senate are both Democrat majorities and they haven’t wasted a moment in attempting to gut the gun laws in what has historically been a permissive state.

The so-called “assault weapon ban” is SB16 and has that perilously vague wording we all know to be incredibly dangerous. In some interpretations, this law, if it passes, could make illegal the ownership or transportation of any semi-automatic gun because extendable magazines are available for it – and you don’t even have to have the extendable mags.
