Harvey Weinstein and the Clinton Protection Racket, by Ann Coulter

Anybody reading this who thinks Harvey Weinstein’s crimes would have been prosecuted and the #MeToo movement inaugurated if Hillary Clinton had been elected is nowhere near cynical enough to be on this site and should find a nice pabulum mainstream media site for their reading pleasure. From Ann Coulter at anncoulter.com:

Harvey Weinstein’s recent perp walk reminds me of another great thing about Trump winning the election: Hillary Clinton isn’t president.

A New York Times article on Weinstein’s court appearance noted how the “ground shifted” last year, finally ending the “code of silence” surrounding powerful men. Why “last year,” if this has been going on for decades?

The article explained that Weinstein’s power was enormous, his connections extensive and his willingness to play dirty without bounds. Did Harvey lose his money and connections “last year”?

Nope. But “last year” was the first year of Trump’s presidency, or as I like to think of it, the first year of Hillary not being president. Ever.

The liberal protection racket for sexual predators was always intimately intertwined with the Clintons. The template used to defend Bill Clinton became a model for all left-wing sexual predators. They all hired the same lawyers and detectives and counted on the same cultural elites to mete out punishment to anyone who stood in the way of their Caligula lifestyles. It was Total War against the original #MeToo movement.

Even Teddy Kennedy never plotted revenge on reporters or smeared his sexual conquests as bimbos, trailer park trash and stalkers. That was the Clinton model.

Showing how incestuous it was, in 2000 — two years after Clinton’s impeachment — Weinstein used his publishing company, Talk/Miramax, overseen by Tina Brown, to take revenge on anyone involved in Clinton’s impeachment.

The publishing house commissioned a book by John Connolly to dig into the private sex lives of the people who had helped expose Bill Clinton, e.g., the lawyers behind Paula Jones’ lawsuit, Ken Starr’s staff, Linda Tripp lawyer Jim Moody, Matt Drudge, reporter Michael Isikoff and so on.

Concise summary of the book: All of us were gay, except me, because I was having an affair with Geraldo Rivera.

New Democratic Spin Cycle: Launders Money, Gets out the Toughest Sleaze! by Ann Coulter

Democrats are running questionable and perhaps illegal deeds through law firms. This not only obscures who’s pulling the strings, but affords participants the attorney-clinet privilege. From Ann Coulter at anncoulter.com:

The Democrats have two very different profiles. One is their public face of absolute moral purity. They’re just better people than Republicans.

That’s what you’re buying when you walk into the Democratic store: pure virtue. They’ve got nothing else on the shelves. No beef jerky, no wiper fluid, no Gatorade.

The other profile is reality: In the backroom, where the employees eat lunch, the Democrats and their fat-cat donors are committing unspeakably sleazy and immoral acts.

Everyone on the left knows this. That’s why, the moment Harvey Weinstein was exposed as a sexual predator, his reflexive response was not to apologize. Accused of the kind of rapes you’d usually need a gang to commit, he put up a virtue shield by attacking the National Rifle Association.

As we recently discovered, first with Weinstein and then with the Hillary campaign paying for the Russian dossier, the left has an all-new trick that exponentially multiplies the Democrats’ sleaze factor.

It used to be that Democrats like Bill Clinton would deploy FOBs — Friends of Bill — like James Carville and Sidney Blumenthal to smear his victims. Now, they run their Watergate-style “ratf—ing” through law firms.

Ronan Farrow writes in this week’s New Yorker that Weinstein deployed a raft of spies to befriend and deceive his accusers in order to collect information that could be used against them.

A spy with the Israeli private investigations firm Black Cube used a fake name and fake foundation to meet actress Rose McGowan. Then, pretending to be a deeply sympathetic women’s rights advocate, the agent secretly tape-recorded the actress, hoping to get incriminating evidence against her.

At a minimum, this is unspeakably repellent and possibly illegal.

And who hired the spies? Not Weinstein! The law firm of David Boies, prominent Democratic attorney.

The Big Why, by Hardscrabble Farmer

Harvey Weinstein, Stephen Paddock, and opioids are symptoms of a very sick culture. From Hardscrabble Farmer at theburningplatform.com:

In the past few weeks America has been given a chance to examine it’s pathological descent up close and personal. Knee deep in a growing pile of human wreckage that is the opioid epidemic additional bodies have been heaped upon the charnel pile. First in Las Vegas and then in Hollywood, two towns that personify our ever increasing addiction to debauchery and dissolution. Cities built, not on an ethic of hard work and sincerity, but rather on fantasy and falsehoods.

Entire industries that prey upon the weakness of the body politic in order to bolster and empower the most venal and corrupt, the whore mongers and pimps. It has always been a one way street, an endless grift where fantasies are sold as reality and where both dollars and morality are stripped away from the rubes in flyover country like the garments from a young actress.

There has been a great deal of talk about motives though I have never been all that interested in what drives people to commit heinous acts of depravity against innocents. Neither do I abjure the complicity of those revelers in the dance macabre of modernity who think that they can boogie to the tune without paying the piper. There is a connection here, between the perp and the patsy, that is inseparable and those who suffer do so as much by their own complicity as by the machinations of sociopaths.

I live in a world that is as divorced from the progressive ideologies of Tinseltown as Enceladus. Reality and its outcomes are my daily companions and the failure to live in harness with it guarantees my failure. So the choices that I make and the way in which I live my life is tied to those observable features. I can easily see the connection between the Harvey Weinsteins, James Paddocks and the tens of thousands of unnamed OD’s in the Red States as clearly as the brilliant colored foliage of my homestead.

The United States of Weinstein: Complicity, Greed and Corruption Is the Status Quo, by Charles Hugh Smith

The Hollywood pig was no aberration. From Charles Hugh Smith at oftwominds.com:

If integrity means more than any of these baubles, then prepare to fail. The theme this week is The Rot Within.
The sordid story of Harvey Weinstein is being presented as an aberration. It is not an aberration; it is merely a high-profile example of how the status quo functions in the USA, a.k.a. The United States of Weinstein, in which complicity, greed and corruption reign supreme in every sector and in every nook and cranny of power.
The dirty secret of America’s status quo is that power and wealth are both extremely concentrated, which means there are gatekeepers who must be bribed, sated or serviced if you want to claw your way up the wealth-power pyramid. Mr. Weinstein’s alleged conduct and payoffs of those he exploited is par for the course in the corridors of power in the USA.
As a gatekeeper in Hollywood, Mr. W. could make or break careers with absurd ease.
Gatekeepers are the key functionaries in a rentier economy in which the few at the top skim the wealth of the many. Want to play in the big leagues of Hollywood, Washington D.C., the Pentagon, or the various HQs of Global Corporate America? You have to pay the Gatekeepers what they demand.
It might be the casting couch or a slice of the profits, or a vote in committee, but the price of admission will always include complicity–silence about the crimes committed and the endemic corruption, and a sacrifice of moral standards. This is the minimal price of “success” in the elite circles of wealth and power in America.
If you doubt this, dig deep into any concentration of power in America and see what you find. Outsiders won’t find anyone willing to talk, of course; that’s how complicity works.
The overheated engine of complicity is greed. Hollywood kept quiet about Mr. Weinstein because insiders and wannabes alike hoped to score a plum role in Mr. W.’s next hitmaking production, or secure a couple of points of the gross. (1 point = 1%.)

Trump Takes Down Over Two Dozen Elite Pedophiles Including Celebrities and Politicians, by Liz Crokin

It’s a distasteful subject, but Harvey Weinstein is probably going to be just the visible tip of a gigantic iceberg of immoral and illegal sexual practices among the “elite.” From Liz Crokin at lizcrokin.com:

In June I reported that President Donald Trump is zeroing in on the elite pedophile rings. There are dozens of politicians, government officials and celebrities – including Harvey Weinstein, Jeff Epstein, Anthony Weiner, Mark Salling and eleven Democratic mayors – who have been arrested or are currently embroiled in major sex or pedophilia scandals since Trump’s election victory. The powerful peers of these sexual predators and pedophiles have vigorously protected them for decades; however, now they’re no longer safe. Trump is fully committed to exposing and stopping the sexual criminality and child sex trafficking that’s run rampant in DC and Hollywood for far too long.

On Feb. 23, during a listening session at the White House on human trafficking Trump said: “Dedicated men and women across the federal government have focused on this for some time — as you know it’s been much more focused over the last four weeks.” Trump meant what he said and wasted no time going after child sexual predators. During Trump’s first month in office alone, authorities arrested over 1500 individuals for charges related to pedophilia. The mainstream media not only has refused to cover child sex trafficking among the elites, they’ve actively covered up for pedophiles because many in the media are involved. However, I wrote in February that this story would eventually get so big that the mainstream media will be forced to cover this epidemic. We’ve finally reached that boiling point.

On Thursday The New York Times released a bombshell report revealing that movie mogul Harvey Weinstein of the Weinstein Company has paid off at least eight women who claimed he sexually assaulted them. He made sexual advances toward Ashley Judd, told an employee on her first day that he’d boost her career if she accepted his sexual advances and forced another employee to give him a massage, according to the report. Although there are no public reports of Weinstein sexually assaulting children or downloading child pornography, he has aggressively defended Roman Polanski who was convicted of raping a 13-year-old girl. Not only did Weinstein stick up for the pedophile, he campaigned for the courts to commute his sentence by starting a petition and wrote an entire op-ed on his behalf titled Polanski Has Served His Time & Must Be Freed. Meryl Streep gave Roman Polanksi a standing ovation at the Oscarsafter he was convicted of child rape and Whoopi Goldberg insisted the sexual assault of the child not a real rape. “I know it wasn’t rape-rape,” Goldberg said.

Power Corrupts: A Culture of Compliance Breeds Despots and Predators, by John W. Whitehead

Predation is what our rulers and betters do. From John W. Whitehead at rutherford.org:

Power corrupts.

Worse, as 19th-century historian Lord Acton concluded, absolute power corrupts absolutely.

It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about a politician, an entertainment mogul, a corporate CEO or a police officer: give any one person (or government agency) too much power and allow him or her or it to believe that they are entitled, untouchable and will not be held accountable for their actions, and those powers will eventually be abused.

We’re seeing this dynamic play out every day in communities across America.

A cop shoots an unarmed citizen for no credible reason and gets away with it. A president employs executive orders to sidestep the Constitution and gets away with it. A government agency spies on its citizens’ communications and gets away with it. An entertainment mogul sexually harasses aspiring actresses and gets away with it.

Abuse of power—and the ambition-fueled hypocrisy and deliberate disregard for misconduct that make those abuses possible—works the same whether you’re talking about sexual harassment, government corruption, or the rule of law.

For instance, 20 years ago, I took up a sexual harassment lawsuit on behalf of a young woman—a state employee—who claimed that her boss, a politically powerful man, had arranged for her to meet him in a hotel room, where he then allegedly dropped his pants, propositioned her and invited her to perform oral sex on him.

Despite the fact that this man had a well-known reputation for womanizing and this woman was merely one in a long line of women who had accused the man of groping, propositioning, and pressuring them for sexual favors in the workplace, she was denounced as white trash and subjected to a massive smear campaign by the man’s wife, friends and colleagues (including the leading women’s rights organizations of the day), while he was given lucrative book deals and paid lavish sums for speaking engagements.

William Jefferson Clinton eventually agreed to settle the case and pay Paula Jones $850,000.

Here we are 20 years later and not much has changed.

We’re still shocked by sexual harassment in the workplace, the victims of these sexual predators are still being harassed and smeared, and those who stand to gain the most by overlooking wrongdoing (all across the political spectrum) are still turning a blind eye to misconduct when it’s politically expedient to do so.

This time, it’s Hollywood producer Harvey Weinsteinlongtime Clinton associate and a powerhouse when it comes to raising money for Democrats—who is being accused of decades of sexual assaults, aggressively sexual overtures and harassment.

Our Protected, Predatory Oligarchy: Dirty Secrets, Dirty Lies, by Charles Hugh Smith

Anybody who thinks Harvey Weinstein is just an aberration needs to be put in a padded isolation ward for his or her own protection. From Charles Hugh Smith at oftwominds.com:

If you want to understand why the status quo is unraveling, start by examining the feudal structure of our society, politics and economy.

The revelations coming to light about Hollywood Oligarch Harvey Weinstein perfectly capture the true nature of our status quo: a rotten-to-the-core, predatory, exploitive oligarchy of dirty secrets and dirty lies protected by an army of self-serving sycophants, servile toadies on the make and well-paid legal mercenaries. Predators aren’t an aberration of the Establishment; they are the perfection of the Establishment, which protects abusive, exploitive predator-oligarchs lest the feudal injustices of life in America be revealed for all to see.
The predators reckon their aristocratic status in Hollywood/D.C. grants them a feudal-era droit du seigneur (rights of the lord) to take whatever gratifications they desire from any female who has the grave misfortune to enter their malefic orbit.
Anyone who protests or makes efforts to go public is threatened by the oligarch’s thugs and discredited/smeared by the oligarch’s take-no-prisoners legal mercenaries. (Recall the Clintons’ Crisis Management Team tasked with crushing any Bimbo Eruptions, i.e. any eruptions of the truth about Bill’s well-known-to-insiders predation of the peasantry.)
The dirty secret is that the oh-so-hypocritical power elites of Hollywood and Washington D.C. circle the wagons to protect One of Their Own from being unmasked. The first weapons of choice in this defense are (as noted above) threats from thugs, discrediting the exploited via the oligarchy’s paid goons and lackeys in the mainstream media and dirty lies about what a great and good fellow the oligarch predator is. The last line of defense is a hefty bribe to silence any peasant still standing after the oligarchs’ onslaught of threats, smears and lies.
Should the worst happen and some sliver of the truth emerge despite the best efforts of the thugs, corporate media, legal mercenaries and PR handlers, then the playbook follows the script of any well-managed Communist dictatorship:the oligarch predator is thrown to the wolves to protect the oligarchs’ systemic predation and exploitation of the peasantry/debt-serfs.
