Ronald McDonald or Lucretia Borgia?: In the Long Run, We Are all Dead, by Fred Reed

Fred Reed sees disaster no matter who wins the election. From Reed on a guest post at theburningplatform.com:

More fun in the Indispensable Nation: As we have all heard by now, according to Hillary, ardent of becoming National Basilisk, half of Trump’s supporters are evil and the other half losers, deplorables all. That is, she holds half of Americans in contempt. Unsurprisingly she said this in New York, which is barely America, and to a convention of sexual curiosities.

I frankly think her admirable. As she coughs, staggers, convulses, lies, pilfers, sells favors and lapses into intermittent confusion, she still has the courage to tell America that she loathes half of it. That´s candor.

Give her credit for consistency. She is always mendacious, firmly in the pockets of Wall Street, Israel, the Neocon hawks, and the arms industry, never having accomplished anything on her own, always riding Bill’s coattails, having a disastrous record as SecState, always for sale. With her, we know what we will get. With Trump, it’s a roll of very weird dice.

Ah, the Donald. While he unmistakably displays various presidential qualities–he can walk up stairs by himself, and his eyes usually point in the same direction–there is indeed a certain aleatory quality to the man. God knows what he might do. He shoots from the hip, saying all sorts of loopy but interesting things. Interesting if you live somewhere else. He talks unflatteringly about the other sex near open mikes, instead of away from them like everybody else.

The Donald merely makes me nervous, while Hillary makes me want to take poison. It is the difference between an acid trip and death by sinus drainage. His truly great strength is that he is not Hillary. The election is really a contest between placeholders for conflicting interests, for different views of the world. Few would want either if there were another choice.

Hillary’s attitude toward America has for years been implicit in our ruling class in New York. Having little in common with the rest of the country, they speak of most of it as Flyover Land, a realm of intellectual darkness and barbarism separating Manhattan and Hollywood. So far as I know, this is the first time the elites have had the confidence, if not necessarily the judgement, to say it plainly.

Let’s not delude ourselves. America is ruled by the Five Cities, Boston, New York, Washington, Tel Aviv, and Hollywood. The rest of us just pay taxes. The heart of the beast is New York, the Ivies being its nursery and Washington its storefront.

To a practicing curmudgeon, the presidential contest is amusing but unimportant. Hillary will win, whether she wins or not. She is just the wave front of deep and fast-flowing currents of decay that cannot be stopped. Trump may try, but he cannot succeed. We live in a dying culture and, soon, a diminished country. It cannot be saved.

He Said That? 10/17/16

From Donald Trump spokesman Jason Miller, responding to a question about the many journalists and media executives donating to the Clinton campaign:

Considering that we’re witnessing the single biggest coordinated media attack in political history, it should come as no surprise. If the [Federal Election Commission] viewed their biased hit pieces against Mr. Trump as in-kind contributions, they would have exceeded their maximum allowable gift limits a long time ago.

‘With Her’ – Lobbyists Raise $20 Million for Clinton vs. Zero For Trump, by Michael Krieger

‘With Her’ – Lobbyists Raise $20 Million for Clinton vs. Zero For Trump, by Michael Krieger

When lobbyists donate $20 million to one campaign and a pittance to the other, which side is more likely to be bought and paid for? From Michael Krieger at libertyblitzkrieg.com:

With so much mud being slung from all directions in this circus of an election, it’s often hard to separate fact from fiction. However, on one particular topic there is little doubt. When it comes to the big money crowd, they are definitely “with her.”

The Wall Street Journal reports:

Not a single registered lobbyist has raised a substantial amount of money for Republican nominee Donald Trump‘s campaign, according to campaign-finance disclosures filed over the weekend.

Democrat Hillary Clinton, meanwhile, has drawn more than $20 million over the course of her race for her campaign and joint Democratic Party accounts through funds raised by registered lobbyists, according to her disclosures.

Campaigns and joint party accounts are required to disclose to the Federal Election Commission the names of registered lobbyists who raise more than $17,600. The latest disclosures cover the period through September.

Mr. Trump has spent more than a year railing against Washington lobbyists and the “special interests” they represent. Yet leaders of his transition team have held a series of meetings with industry lobbyists to prepare for a possible victory next month, the Washington Post reported.

On top of the financial cost of alienating lobbyists—which comes as Mr. Trump entered October with half as much cash in the bank as Mrs. Clinton—Mr. Trump also loses the broader network lobbyists’ support brings. Lobbyists are connected to a wide range of corporate clients who both have deep pockets and carry plenty of influence.

“We have specifically not recruited lobbyists to raise money as Mr. Trump has always said he would not be beholden to special interests that control Washington, D.C., and our failed politicians,” said Trump spokeswoman Hope Hicks. “This is a movement about the people and it will continue to be if he is elected president.”

This year, lawyers and lobbyists donated nearly $30 million to Mrs. Clinton through August and just $830,000 to Mr. Trump, according to the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics.

On top of the legally required FEC disclosures, Mrs. Clinton also posts and regularly updates a list of donors who have raised $100,000 or more for her campaign. Mr. Trump hasn’t disclosed any bundlers for his campaign, and a spokeswoman has said he doesn’t plan to do so.

Of course, this just adds icing to the cake of a trend I’ve been writing about all year. For example, recall what we learned last month in the post, Wall Street Goes “All In” for Hillary Clinton:

Hedge fund moguls are pouring stunning amounts of cash into the main super-PAC supporting Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Citing data from the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, the Wall Street Journal reported in July that “seven financial firms alone have generated $47.6 million for groups working on Mrs.Clinton’s behalf.”

The comparable amount raised for Trump at that time was $19,000. And though his haul from the financial industry has increased substantially by now, it still pales in comparison to Clinton’s.

“Trump is the people’s Ambassador. His message, is nothing more profound than…………” by Mike Bishop

An epic rant from Mike Bishop. Warning: the language is somewhat coarse. From Bishop at theburningplatform.com:

If you don’t like coarse language, the back button is located at the top left of your internet browser…

I generally avoid discussing politics. I don’t believe in human saviors. I do; however, believe in sticking together.

If the Republicans pull a stunt, and Trump runs third party, fantastic.

Mission complete.

It’s winner-take-fucking-all. Either he gets in the Captain’s Chair and turns the ship around, or he burns the motherfucking house down on his way out.

The Republican Party, remember them?

They were the ones that were going to end illegal immigration and eviscerate CommieCare™. So for all you, “non-socialist“, “non-politically-correct” folks out there, why would you continue to not only reward failure, but continue to show up, and give support to the party that betrays you time, after time, after time?

You’re like a bunch of bitchy battered spouses.

A fucking meateater shows up to kick your abusive husband’s ass, and you go full blown Stockholm.

Then, during the primaries, these fucking crony-capitalist, anti-free-market goons have the audacity to parade around the biggest dogpile of invertebrates this side of the Precambrian Era, and actually expected us to accept these wishy washy, limp-dicked clowns?

I’ve never seen such a pack of worthless buffoons in my life. Kasich? Christie!? Rubio!?! Are you fucking kidding me!? 300,000,000 Americans, and these damp washcloths with pulses were the best the country could come up with?

Then, to add insult to injury, and prove to the world that they were more than willing to cut their own nose off to spite their face, they were ready to throw the primary process into the wood chipper, because you, me, and everyone else is incapable of deciding who the fuck we want to vote for!? The GOP Establishment just told you fuckers it doesn’t give a flying soggy biscuit what you meaningless serfs think; it will pick its own candidate, “screw you very much“.

And you’re still willing to throw your bibs on, and scootch on up to the shit trough smorgasbord!?!?

Seriously!?

The faux-outrage from shitweasels like Ryan only show who the worms are. It’s like watching a 500,000,000-lumen light shining down as the cockroaches scatter.

Trump could run as a the candidate from the Scientology Xenu Collective Party, and he will get my vote.

Trump could whip his Dugan out and piss in Anderson Cooper’s face on live TV…

…Still voting for him.

Enough is enough.

Trump is harder than woodpecker lips. He ante’d up. He’s all-in. And if he doesn’t win, it will be the biggest failure of his career. Period. The demonization won’t stop if he simply loses.

He threw down the gauntlet, stepped up to the plate, and has been a thorn in the side to every corrupt plutocrat, every sniveling millennial cockweasel, every social justice sissy, every man-spreading offense-taking-horn-rimmed-glasses-wearing-soon-to-be-spinster-vegan-cat-lady, every TelePrompTer-regurgitating dick-squeezer working for state-run media, every deadbeat-handout-sucking-grifter, every tip-toeing-closeted-pedophile-politician, every crony-corporatist-tax-payer-subsidized-offshoring-swindler, every lowlife-border-serpent coming here to mooch, every Stars-and-Stripes-asswiping-Old-Glory-burning-Communist-cocksmoker; in short, he is an affront to the sensibilities of the worst in America.

Global Elites Are Getting Ready To Blame You For The Coming Financial Crash, by Brandon Smith

Brandon Smith shares with SLL the belief that a global financial and economic crash is imminent. Smith believes that global elites will use it to further concentrate their power, and discredit the liberty and conservative movements. Trump will get elected and he and his supporters will be blamed for something that is already baked in. From Smith at alt-market.com:

Those people that have any doubts about where the narrative is headed for global economic stability simply have not been paying attention lately.

As I pointed out in my pre-Brexit referendum article, Brexit: Global Trigger Event, Fake Out Or Something Else?, the story being scripted by the globalists is one of the “failures and crimes” of conservative movements. I predicted that the Brexit would pass based on this language used by international financiers and elites leading up to the vote.

The vast majority of analysts in the mainstream and in the alternative media refused to acknowledge the possibility that a successful Brexit actually works in FAVOR of the globalists, because it provides them a perfect scapegoat for a financial crisis that has been broiling for years and is now ready to burst into flames. I find still that many people will not dare to consider the idea that a successful conservative resurgence is actually part of the plan for globalist institutions. Many argue that the elites just don’t have that kind of pervasive control over the system, or that I am attributing “too much power and ability” to them.

I find this argument rather naive but also interesting, because many of the people that claim the elites do not have such influence were also the same people that argued before the Brexit that the elites would “never allow” the U.K. referendum to pass. So, do they have extensive influence, or don’t they? This kind of selective blindness to the game being played prevents a whole host of otherwise intelligent people from grasping reality.

These folks need to finally admit to themselves that they were half right; the globalists would not allow the passage of the Brexit, UNLESS, a successful Brexit actually works in their favor.

In my post-Brexit analysis I said that the meme of bumbling and destructive conservatives and “populists” would continue into the U.S. election, and so far it would seem this is exactly the case. In numerous mainstream articles globalists have been openly telling us exactly what is about to happen.

I find that the same naivety that developed during the Brexit campaign has also developed around the Trump campaign. Too many in the liberty movement will not entertain the idea that a Trump win is in the cards. Yet, the elites are using the same language in reference to the Trump campaign that they used before and after the Brexit.

Bloomberg’s latest report on the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank showcase numerous warnings by the elites:

“The global economy has benefited tremendously from globalization and technological change,” the IMF’s top advisory panel said in a communique released on Saturday after meeting in Washington. “However, the outlook is increasingly threatened by inward-looking policies, including protectionism, and stalled reforms.”

“The IMF warned in its latest economic outlook that rising political tensions over open markets and free trade could undermine a recovery already lacking a growth engine.”

“In a rebuke to those advocating a turn away from trade, the members of the IMF panel redoubled their commitment to “maintain economic openness and reinvigorate global trade as a critical means to boost global growth.”

Hillary Clinton’s Axis Of Evil, by Pepe Escobar

This is why Hillary Clinton is “The Most Dangerous Candidate.” From Pepe Escobar at sputniknews.com:

Let’s cut to the chase; Hillary Clinton is ready to go to war against Russia in Syria – with inbuilt, potentially terrifying, thermonuclear consequences.

Anticipating an outcome of the US presidential election as a remix of the 1972 Nixon landslide, Hillary has also coined, George “Dubya” Bush-style, a remixed axis of evil: Russia, Iran and “the Assad regime”.

That’s not even counting China, which, via “aggression” in the South China Sea, will also feature as a certified foe for the Founding Mother of the pivot to Asia.

And if all that was not worrying enough, Turkey now seems on the path to join the axis. President Putin and President Erdogan met in Istanbul. Moscow positioned itself as ready to develop large-scale military-technical cooperation with Ankara.

That includes, of course, the $20 billion, Rosatom-built, four-reactor Akkuyu nuclear power plant. And the drive to “speed up the work” on Turkish Stream – which will de facto strengthen even more Russia’s position in the European gas market, bypassing Ukraine for good, while sealing Ankara’s position as a key East-West energy crossroads.

In addition, both Moscow and Ankara back UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura’s position that “moderate rebels” (the Beltway’s terminology) holding eastern Aleppo hostage must be eradicated.

The geopolitical game-changer is self-evident. As much as Erdogan may be a whirling political dervish, impossible to fathom and trust, while Putin is a master of the strategic long game, Moscow’s and Ankara’s interests tend to converge in the New Great Game; and that spells out closer integration in the dawn of the Eurasian Century.

Quite a cup of hemlock for Hillary Clinton, who has already equated Putin with Hitler.

Regime change or hot war?

In the appalling spectacle that turned out to be round two of the interminable Trump/Clinton cage match, Donald Trump once again made a rational point – expressing his wish for a normalized working relationship with Russia. Yet that is absolute anathema for the War Party, as in the neocon/neoliberalcon nebulae in the Beltway-Wall Street axis.

Machine-controlled Democrats once again condemned Trump as a tool of Putin while bewildered Republicans condemned Trump because he goes against “mainstream Republican thinking”.

Here’s what Trump said; “I don’t like Assad at all, but Assad is killing ISIS. Russia is killing ISIS and Iran is killing ISIS.”

Trump’s outlook on Southwest Asia relies on only one vector; destroy ISIS/ISIL/Daesh. That’s what adviser and former Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) director, retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, has been infiltrating into Trump’s notoriously short attention span.

Contempt in Stone, by Porter

Nothing but contempt is due the Republican “leaders” who have stabbed in the back not just Trump, but millions of regular Republicans who support Trump. From Porter at kakistocracyblog.wordpress.com via theburningplatform.com:

A reader, commenting here as Reader, drew my attention to a Ross Douthat article today in the Journal of Mexican billionaires

The piece is a keening lament at the failure of Republican Party elders to quash the Trump candidacy at its spring crest. He views their capitulation to primary results as the fuel that is lighting the party’s self-immolation. That Republicans agreed to field the voters’ preference is something he regards as a stupendous mistake. Douthat deploys the term “compromise” multiple times in describing the party’s concession to its voters. And finding that description wan through overuse, he proceeds to brighten the sentiment by calling the acceptance of Trump’s nomination a “surrender.”

A surrender to whom, motherfucker?

It certainly wasn’t a surrender to Donald Trump. A candidate holds no power beyond the votes he has accumulated. I notice the party didn’t compromise with or surrender to Tom Tancredo in 2008. That they have now done so to Trump is not what is more favorably regarded as sacred democracy when blacks and the dead vote democrat but rather, by Douthat’s implication, a grim example of Republicans’ moral infirmity.

What a statement of cake-eating contempt.

The Republican party’s alleged ‘surrender’ was to its constituents. The people that party exists to serve. This being a relationship enduringly confused by those at the Acela end of it.

Politicians, lobbyists, pundits, and every one of you scavengers and parasites in the Republican ecosystem exist because its base of voters makes the party viable. Not you. A tick rides on the dog’s back for so long it eventually forgets who’s doing the walking.

You Paul Ryan, Ben Sasse, Rick Wilson, and John McCain are apparatchiks. Stewards. Showmen and functionaries. You only have value in the party to the extent you have value to its voters. They don’t serve at your pleasure, and they don’t require your approval of their choices. That choice was made clearly and unequivocally by tens of millions of people who do the actual work in this country that pays for your prostitutes and pomposity.

I understand if you disagree with the selection. Keep your goddamned mouth shut. Your fiduciary responsibility as a party hack is to lubricate the political machine. If unable to perform even that menial task, then you are merely worthless. Yet so many of you have aspired to be worse. You have actively sabotaged your constituents’ choice. The people who made that choice have every right to their candidate receiving a fair hearing in the general election. But with that possibility foreclosed by a uniformly corrupt media, they at least expect their own party apparatus to sulk when it will not help.

But that was asking too much. No, a phalanx of you leap on 11 year-old pretext to withdraw support and demand the nominee withdraw a month out the election. You could have observed the obvious: that far greater concerns are at issue in this election than antique machismo. Or you could have simply said “no comment.” Instead you unsheathed the knives.

The Truth About GOPe Abandoning Trump, by Karl Denninger

The Republicans are far more worried about being blamed for the consequences of the US’s exploding debt than they are about Donald Trump’s behavior with women. From Karl Denninger, on a guest post at theburningplatform.com:

Let’s cut the crap eh?

Paul Ryan, Mitch McConnell, Renice, John McCain and the others are not upset about Trump’s foul mouth.

That’s yet another lie.

Here’s the truth:

They know damn well that last year alone the House and Senate, both of which are Republican, presided over, passed and spent at a level that generated a $1.4 trillion deficit.

Let me remind you that all revenue bills must originate in the house. The President may not spend one dollar that has not been allocated by Congress.
It is a fact that the government ran a $1.4 trillion dollar deficit in the fiscal year ending September 30th. Read the link for the documentation; the MTS showing exactly where that went will be out Tuesday, and I will be reporting on it.

Here is the problem: If Trump wins the election then both Houses of Congress and the Presidency will be carried by Republican majorities.

This means they will have nobody to blame for what is a certain fiscal and economic crack-up that will come during the next President’s term on the path we are on now and which none of them intend to change.

If Hillary is in office they can blame her just like they blame Obama now, even though, as noted, the Constitution requires all revenue bills to originate in the House and the President cannot spend one dime without a Congressional appropriation.

However, the people of this nation are either too stupid, too ignorant or have their face stuffed too far up a social media site’s ass to pay attention to this fact and demand that it stop before the federal government blows up on a budgetary level, before our economy blows up and before all of our asset markets — stocks, bonds, housing, all of it — go up in smoke with losses that could easily reach 90%.

THAT is what is coming, it is likely coming during the next President’s term and the GOPe knows it.

If it happens when the GOP controls all three portions of the bill-passing mechanism in the United States they will own it and have it tattooed all over their bodies and will not be able to blame it on anyone else.

That is why the “outrage” now, when it is being widely reported that Paul Ryan along with others in the Republican Party knew that leaked audio recording from Trump existed months if not years ago.

The issue is not a leaked audio recording from 10 years ago.

It’s their mortal fear of being hung, either politically or literally, when the economy and federal government collapse on their watch and as a direct consequence of their actions with no way to blame anyone else.

The Donald Lives! by Patrick J. Buchanan

Patrick J. Buchanan revels in Trump’s debate performance. From Buchanan at buchanan.org:

Donald Trump turned in perhaps the most effective performance in the history of presidential debates on Sunday night.

As the day began, he had been denounced by his wife, Mike Pence, and his own staff for a tape of crude and lewd remarks in a decade-old “locker room” conversation on a bus with Billy Bush of “Access Hollywood.”

Tasting blood, the media were in a feeding frenzy. Trump is dropping out! Pence is bolting the ticket! Republican elites are about to disown and abandon the Republican nominee!

Sometime this weekend, Trump made a decision: If he is going down to defeat, he will go out as Trump, not some sniveling penitent begging forgiveness from hypocrites who fear and loathe him.

His first move was to host a press availability, before the debate, where a small sampling of Bill Clinton’s alleged victims — Kathleen Willey, Paula Jones, Juanita Broaddrick — made brief statements endorsing Trump and denouncing the misogyny of the Clintons.

“Mr. Trump may have said some bad words, but Bill Clinton raped me,” said Broaddrick, “and Hillary Clinton threatened me.”

The press had to cover it. Then the women marched into the auditorium at Washington University to watch Hillary Clinton defend her behavior toward them after their encounters with Bill.

As the moderators and Hillary Clinton scrambled to refocus on Trump’s comments of a decade ago, Trump brought it back to Bill’s criminal misconduct against women, his lying about it, and Hillary’s aiding and abetting of the First Predator.

It was like a tawdry courtroom drama in an X-rated movie, a new low in presidential debates. But what it revealed is that if Trump is going down, his enemies will carry away their own permanent scars.

As Caesar said of Cassius, “Such men are dangerous.”

Hillary Clinton has never been hammered as she was Sunday night, and it showed. Knocked off her game, she was no longer the prim and poised debater of Hofstra University.

There were other signs that, win or lose, Trump intends to finish the campaign as he began, as a populist-nationalist and unapologetic adversary of open borders, globalization and neo-imperialism.

When moderators Martha Raddatz and Anderson Cooper revealed their bias by asking Trump tougher questions and more follow-ups, and interrupting him more rudely and often, he called them out.

“It’s one on three!” said Trump. And it sure looked like it.

How could the moderators have ignored that other leak of last week, of Clintons’s speech to Brazilian bankers where she confessed she “dreams” of a “hemispheric common market with open trade and open borders.”

If the quote is accurate, and Clinton has not denied it, she was saying she dreams of a future when the United States ceases to exist as a separate, sovereign and independent nation.

She envisions not just a North American Union evolving out of NAFTA but a merger of all the nations of North, South and Central America, with all borders erased and people moving freely from one place to another within a hemispheric super-state.

If this quote is accurate, Clinton is working toward an end to the independence for which our Founding Fathers fought the American Revolution.

After all, Thomas Jefferson did not write some declaration of diversity in 1776, but a Declaration of Independence for a new, unique and separate people.

Clinton dreams of doing away with what American patriots cherish most.

A Government is Seizing Control of Our Election Process, and It Is Not the Russians, by Peter van Buren

One guess as to who the government in the title is. From Peter van Buren at ronpaulinstitute.org:

There is an attempt underway for a government to take control of our election process and throw the election to Hillary Clinton. It is not the Russian government. Mark this day — it is when we came to understand that the American government decided to elect a president.

(Note: I understand in the minds of the mass media the most important issue in America today is Trump’s crude remarks, but there are indeed real things to be concerned about otherwise.)

Here’s how:

— Two days before the second presidential debate, the government of the United States officially accused Russia of a hacking campaign aimed at interfering in the U.S. election. In a joint statement, absent any specifics or technical details, the Department of Homeland Security and the Director of National Intelligence stated “the recent [hacked email] disclosures… are consistent with the methods and motivations of Russian-directed efforts… based on the scope and sensitivity of these efforts, only Russia’s senior-most officials could have authorized these activities.”

The statement goes on to detail how only Democratic servers were attacked, meaning the American government is claiming that Russia is trying to throw the election to Donald Trump, plain and simple. It is left unsaid why the Russians would risk cyberwar with the United States to do this, as many have suggested Trump is a neocon in spirit whose loose finger will be on the nuclear button from day one. Clinton is much more of a political realist, comfortable with the business-as-usual of the past eight years that has gone in Russia’s favor in the Ukraine and Syria. She in fact seems like the stable known known, always a preference.

— Though the first “Russian” hacks were reported in July, it is only 48 hours before the second presidential debate that the statement was released. It could easily have been held until Monday, there is no national security urgency for this to come out Friday. However, with the timing, Trump, essentially tied with Clinton in the polls, will now spend much of the debate defending himself. Since the statement includes no details, only accusations, it is hard to see how anyone could defend themselves. It would be near-impossible for Trump to come out ahead Sunday night; this is a near-coup.

— In the first presidential debate, Hillary Clinton broadly speculated that Donald Trump had paid no taxes. Days later, several pages of Trump’s tax returns, documents that had been sought unsuccessfully by the media for over a year, arrive at the New York Times, who front pages a story. In the Vice Presidential debate which followed, Trump’s running mate spent time on the defensive defending his boss’ deductions.

Clinton sent and received classified material on an unsecured, classified server. That violated the most basic rule of information security. She lied about it. She deleted emails and “lost” both the majority of her devices and many, many emails. The FBI and the Department of Justice, ahead of the Democratic nominating convention, found she violated no law. The Department of Justice granted broad immunity to key Clinton staffers, and allowed two of them to destroy their devices. No further investigation will thus be possible.
