Featured Story The Digital ‘Iron Curtain’ Descends, by Alastair Crooke

The legacy media and the big social media outfits have become agents of governments. You probably know that, which is why you’re reading Straight Line Logic. From Alastair Crooke at strategic-culture.org:

What is a ‘digital Iron Curtain’? It is when Big Digital, as Professor Michael Rectenwald terms these western Tech Goliaths, become ‘governmentalities’, using a word originally coined by Michel Foucault to refer to the means by which the ‘governed’ (i.e. ‘we the people’) assimilate, and reflect outwardly, a mental attitude desired by the élites: “One might point to masking and social distancing as instances of what Foucault meant by his notion of governmentality”, Rectenwald suggests.

And what is that desired ‘mentality’? It is to embrace the transfiguration of American and European identity and way-of-life. The presumptive U.S. President Elect, the European élites, and top ‘woke’ élites moreover, are publicly committed to such “transformation”: “Now we take Georgia, then we change the world,” (Chuck Schumer, Senate Minority Leader, declared, celebrating Joe Biden’s ‘victory’); “Trump’s defeat can be the beginning of the end of the triumph of far-right populisms also in Europe”, claimed Donald Tusk, former president of the European Council.

In short, the ‘Iron Curtain’ descends when supposedly private enterprises (Big Digital) mutually inter-penetrate with – and then claim – the State: No longer the non-believer facing this coming metamorphosis is to be persuaded – he can be compelled. Regressive values held on identity, race and gender quickly slipped into a ‘heresy’ labelling. And as the BLM activists endlessly repeat: “Silence is no option: Silence is complicity”.

New York Times Job Listing Shows How Western Propaganda Operates, by Caitlin Johnstone

The New York Times posted a job listing for a propagandist. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com:

People who are only just beginning to research what’s wrong with the world often hold an assumption that mainstream news reporters are just knowingly propagandizing people all the time. That they sit around scheming up ways to deceive their audiences into supporting war, oligarchy and oppression for the benefit of their plutocratic masters.

Once you’ve learned a bit more you realize it’s not quite happening that way. Most mainstream news reporters are not really witting propagandists–those are to be found more in plutocrat-funded think tanks and other narrative management firms, and in the opaque government agencies which feed news media outlets information designed to advance their interests. The predominant reason mainstream news reporters say things that aren’t true is because in order to be hired by mainstream news outlets, you need to jack your mind into a power-serving worldview that is not based in truth.

Do Trump Supporters Live in an Alternate Universe? by Bryce Buchanan

Who actually inhabits a non-real reality? From Bryce Buchanan at theburningplatform.com:

On Monday, in her MSNBC show, “Deadline”, Nicolle Wallace said that “right wing media”, like Fox were creating an “alternate reality” for their viewers.  Nicolle said, “You now have a true, a true alternate reality…  I mean, they are pumping flagrant lies into millions of viewers. They’re interviewing lunatics..”  Nicolle’s guest, the brilliant Al Sharpton (of Tawana Brawley hoax fame) said, “We’re now in a nation where facts don’t matter. You make up facts. And not only do you have an alternative reality, how do you debate someone that is dealing with a totally fictitious premise?

This talk of the alternate, fictional reality inhabited by Trump supporters has been expressed many times by those on the left.  After the Nunes memo was released, exposing parts of the Russia Hoax, CNN’s Brian Stelter said that Sean Hannity was promoting the Nunes lies and he called the story an “alternate reality”.  Stelter’s viewers knew for sure that Trump colluded with Russia,  just like the honorable Adam Schiff said.  Stelter was proud that his viewers knew the truth.

Regarding the current claims of possible election fraud, Stelter said, “This is not an alternative reality. This is a parallel universe of disinformation.”  Other reporters have added that Fox is, “ presenting you with absolute utter lies and nonsense and conspiracy theories.  … These viewers slash victims are not able to differentiate between fantasy and reality. That’s dangerous.”

The Media Know There Was Vote Fraud So Why Do The Presstitutes Deny The Obvious? by Paul Craig Roberts

At this point the legacy media’s claims that there is no evidence of vote fraud are simply ludicrous. From Paul Craig Roberts at paulcraigroberts.org:

The Presstitutes Speak With One Voice. They are unanimous that there was no vote fraud committed by Democrats and that a record number of Americans voted for a president suffering from mental confusion whose campaign rallies went unattended.

If the presstitutes are so confident that there is no evidence to back the legal challenges, why are the prostitutes working overtime to discredit the challenges in advance?  All presstitutes are in denial that there is any evidence of fraud.  Why not just wait for the challenges to fail? Why all the whistling in the dark?

The Boston Globe, for example, claims that no election officials doubt the validity of the vote and that Trump “has launched a series of long-shot legal challenges in several state aimed at casting doubt on election results, despite no evidence of voter fraud”  ( https://www.bostonglobe.com/2020/11/10/nation/if-it-succeeded-it-would-be-coup-legal-experts-weigh-trump-teams-election-challenges/?p1=StaffPage ).

Even the financial news site, Bloomberg, has falsely declared that there is “no evidence of wrongdoing.”  How can the media know until the charges are investigated?

If fraud is not a possibility, why has the Georgia Secretary of State ordered a hand recount of the presidential race?

Why did Supreme Court Justice Alito order Pennsylvania election officials to segregate and separately count ballots that arrived after election day ( https://www.supremecourt.gov/orders/courtorders/110620zr_g31i.pdf )?  Alito ordered the late ballots be kept “in a secure, safe and sealed container separate from other voted ballots.” See also:  https://www.unz.com/article/of-color-revolutions-foreign-and-domestic-the-first-72-hours/

If there is no evidence of fraud, what is the point of such an order?

The US media’s desire to play kingmaker in Trump-Biden clash is forcing millions of Americans to the media fringes, by Robert Bridge

Fox News had a virtual monopoly as the one mainstream conservative-leaning news television outlet. With its transformation into just another hack legacy media organ, it will be competing with ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and CNN. As a business move, it looks suicidal. From Robert Bridge at rt.com:

The US media's desire to play kingmaker in Trump-Biden clash is forcing millions of Americans to the media fringes
t’s tough times for Republican voters, as their last big media ally, Fox News, appears to have abandoned Donald Trump and millions of viewers at the 11th hour. But is alternative media really the answer?

Like a man without a country, Republicans are members of a political tribe sorely lacking media support. That fact alone makes it all the more incredible that Trump ever set foot in the White House, and also helps explain his (possible) defeat in 2020.

Now the question is, did Fox News just outfox itself?

Once upon a time, Fox provided the Republican Party solitary shelter from a storm of media attacks, which ramped up considerably with the election of Donald Trump, a Washington outsider loathed by the establishment. Eventually, however, for reasons known only to Rupert Murdoch, the channel began to abandon its core audience.

Last year, for example, Fox viewers got their first whiff of change when the 89-year-old media mogul brought on board none other than Donna Brazile, a former CNN commentator as well as a former Democratic National Committee chair. Then there’s Chris Wallace, the Fox News anchor who served as moderator during the first debate between Trump and Biden. Critics say Wallace was so harsh with the US president that it appeared as though Trump was debating against two people instead of one.

Wait Just a Minute! Some Very Good News May Be Coming, by Jay Valentine

That the legacy media has declared Joe Biden the winner before lawsuits are resolved and vote counts are certified just shows the legacy media’s bias and outright idiocy. From Jay Valentine at theburningplatform.com:

Moody's: Trump on his way to an easy 2020 win if economy holds up

Like many, I spent the last few nights waking up at 2:03 A.M., no reason, then looking at my phone for news, any news, that might be positive for President Trump.  I survived on Rush, Bongino, Mark Levin.  When the news continued to be ugly, I even checked in on ridiculous bloggers promising that ballots were watermarked and D.J. (our household name for a president we love) was actually launching a sting on the Deep State.

Enough already.  Stop the madness.

Hey, I have a degree in statistics, and I have some level of critical thought.  If there is such pessimism in my tribe, I am not going along.

So today, I started to dig into the numbers, and as I did, I fought my confirmation bias at every step.

I realized that I, like millions of others, had been numbed into despondency by the overwhelming press, media, social media push to certify President-Elect Biden.  (I put that in there so you can see how repellent it is.)

Hey guys, this thing is not only not over; it is scary for Biden.  I mean really scary, and most of all, the media know it.  Thus, the rush to get everyone in line with the narrative that a 78-year-old, early-dementia former V.P., who could not draw a crowd larger than a dozen, just beat D.J. in a fair election.
