South African President Says Social Unrest Was “Planned”; Violence Recedes As Military Deployed, by Tyler Durden

The South African president and other, more ostensibly objective sources are saying that violence greatly diminished in South Africa after the military was called in. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said Friday the riotous looting that transformed parts of the country into a warzone was planned, and his “government would not allow anarchy, mayhem” to continue as 25,000 troops have begun to deploy.

“It is quite clear that all these incidents of unrest and looting were instigated, there were people who planned it and coordinated it,” Ramaphosa said.

“We are going after them, we have identified a good number of them and, we will not allow anarchy and mayhem to just unfold in our country,” he told reporters while touring the KwaZulu-Natal province, more specifically, the port city Durban, one of the worst-hit areas by unrest.

So far, the president’s plan is working. Calm is returning to Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal provinces.

According to the “Unrest Map” via PolicyLab, unrest across Johannesburg and Durban has dramatically subsided in the last day, either because the military is being deployed or the rioters have run out of stores and warehouses to loot as thousands of businesses were destroyed in the weeklong mayhem.

South Africa has been thrown into the news because of President Donald Trump’s recent tweet that he instructed his secretary of state to “closely study” alleged land seizures from white farmers in South Africa.

Earlier this year, a land confiscation motion was brought by radical Marxist opposition leader Julius Malema, and it passed South Africa’s Parliament by a 241-83 vote. Malema has had a long-standing commitment to land confiscation without compensation. In 2016, he told his supporters he was “not calling for the slaughter of white people — at least for now.” The land-grabbing sentiment is also expressed by Lindsay Maasdorp, national spokesman for Black First Land First, a group that condones land seizures in South Africa. He says, “We are going to take back the land, and we’ll do it by any means necessary.” The land confiscation policy was a key factor in the platform of the new president, Cyril Ramaphosa.

Is There a Plan in South Africa to Take White Farms and Kill White Farmers, by Don Boys

By objective measures what Zimbabwe did their white farmers was a disaster for the country…but it bettered the relative position of blacks. Is South Africa going down the same road? From Don Boys at dailycaller.com:

President Trump was not wrong about the South African land-grab, according to the South African Institute of Race Relations (SAIRR), a liberal think tank. SAIRR said that the Trump had exposed the “damage” the policy was doing.

He did not, however, expose the extent of the damage. Nor the intent.

The current President of South Africa wrote an article for London’s Financial Times just two weeks ago defending the acquisition of land from white farmers by black South Africans without compensation: “This is no land grab; nor is it an assault on the private ownership of property. The ANC has been clear that its land reform programme should not undermine future investment in the economy or damage agricultural production and food security.”

‘Zimbabwe-fication’ Begins: Farmers Panic As South Africa Seizes First White-Owned Land, by Tyler Durden

It appears inevitable that South Africa’s government is going to take white farmers’ land away from them, redistribute it to blacks, and call it “land reform.” From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

South Africa’s white farmers have been desperately trying to sell their lands at record pace ahead of planned government land seizures, according to a local farmer’s union. However, there are no buyers.

As Ryan Martinez writes for PlanertFreeWill.com, tensions among the country’s white farming community have been rising since the election of Cyril Ramaphosa who assumed office earlier this year and committed his African National Congress (ANC) to land expropriation.

ANC chairman Gwede Mantashe sparked panic last week when he said:

“You shouldn’t own more than 25,000 acres of land. Therefore, if you own more it should be taken without compensation.”

“People who are privileged never give away privilege as a matter of a gift,” he continued.  “And that is why we say, to give you the tools, revisit the constitution so that you have a legal tool to do it.”

Mantashe comments were condemned by both white and black farmers, with unions predicting such a move would lead to job losses and a situation in which South Africa may no longer be able to feed itself.

Omri van Zyl, head of the Agri SA union, which represents mainly white commercial farmers, said:

“The mood among our members is very solemn. They are confused about the lack of any apparent strategy from the government and many are panicking.

So many farms are up for sale, more than we’ve ever had, but no one is buying.”

“Why would you buy a farm to know the government’s going to take it?”

The National African Farmers’ Union (Nafu), which represents the country’s black farmers, said the scheme would lead to job losses.

Nafu president Motsepe Matlala said:

“From a practical and economical point of view it will not work.”

“Land will be a central issue in the looming 2019 election year, and rhetoric is always easier than transformative action.”

AfriForum, an influential lobby group, recently warned the government its plans would be “catastrophic”.  Ian Cameron, the group’s spokesman, said: “We’re really heading for a state of anarchy if something doesn’t change drastically.”

“Kill the White Man” / or South Africa’s White Genocide, by Justin O. Smith

What’s happening to white people in South Africa is one of the most underreported stories out there. From Justin O. Smith at theburningplatform.com:

The war is on right now against White South Africa, and the violence currently directed at whites by the black majority population and South Africa’s radical communist African National Congress (ANC) and Economic Freedom Fighters parties is at near genocide level. Open displays of racial hatred by South Africa’s leaders have fed a black and bloody tide of pent up rage, that has revoked Mandela’s pledge, if it was ever upheld; and, today in South Africa, white people are being ground into dust and forced to flee or prepare for civil war.

Many South Africans, such as my good friends, Herman and Sonaret Myburgh, owners of Pretoria Engineering in Murfreesboro,TN, recognized the warning signs early, and they left for America shortly after South Africa ended Apartheid in 1994. Even then, the violence against whites had begun, as the Myburghs often explained.

Nelson Mandela was a despicable communist, who allowed three-quarter of a million people to be slaughtered under his regime, but since his death, the violence against whites has become worse. In Johannesburg specifically, close to 60,000 white people have been reported murdered, since Mandela fell from power, along with an estimated half a million more who have vanished without a trace, and while many human rights groups are calling this a “white genocide”, the mainstream media seems not to notice.

The rapid rise of this tragic situation can be largely attributed to the passage of the Expropriation Bill of 2008, which empowered the ANC and “any organ of state at any level of government” to take ownership and possession of property “simply by giving notice to the expropriated owner”. However, the most incendiary bill was passed (241 to 83) just this March 1st 2018 by Parliament, which authorizes the seizure of land from white farmers without paying compensation, as they amended section 25 of their constitution, on the insistence of the radical leftist EFF, and used their majority to legalize state theft from the politically powerless white minority.
