They’re Not Worried About “Russian Influence”, They’re Worried About Dissent, by Caitlin Johnstone

Never take liars at their word. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com:

Being labeled a Russian propagandist all day every day for criticizing US foreign policy is really weird, but one advantage it comes with is a useful perspective on what people have really been talking about all these years when they warn of the dangers of “Russian propaganda”.

I know I’m not a Russian propagandist. I’m not paid by Russia, I have no connections to Russia, and until I started this political commentary gig in 2016 I thought very little about Russia. My opinions about the western empire sometimes turn up on Russian media because I let anyone use my work who wants to, but that was always something they did on their own without my submitting it to them and without any payment or solicitation of any kind. I’m literally just some random westerner sharing political opinions on the internet; those opinions just happen to disagree with the US empire and its stories about itself and its behavior.

Yet for years I’ve watched people pointing at me as an example of what “Russian propaganda” looks like. This has helped inform my understanding of all the panic about “Russian influence” that’s been circulating these last six years, and given me some insight into how seriously it should be taken.

US Surrounds China With War Machinery While Freaking Out About Balloons, by Caitlin Johnstone

The only plausible cause for alarm concerning those Chinese balloons is that they could be a test run for using a balloon to carry an EMP-causing nuclear weapon. That’s not the fear those freaking out cite, and their fears are absurd. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com:

In what Austin journalist Christopher Hooks has called “one of the stupidest news cycles in living memory,” the entire American political/media class is having an existential meltdown over what the Pentagon claims is a Chinese spy balloon detected in US airspace on Thursday.

Secretary of State Antony Blinken cancelled his scheduled diplomatic visit to China after the detection of the balloon. The mass media have been covering the story with breathless excitement. China hawk pundits have been pounding the war drums all day on any platform they can get to and accusing the Biden administration of not responding aggressively enough to the incident.

“The important thing that the American people need to understand, and what we are going to try to expose in a bipartisan fashion on this committee, is that the threat posed by the Chinese Communist Party is not just a distant threat in East Asia, or a threat to Taiwan,” House China Select Committee Chairman Mike Gallagher told Fox News on Friday. “It is a threat right here at home. It is a threat to American sovereignty, and it is a threat to the Midwest — in places like those that I live in.”

“A big Chinese balloon in the sky and millions of Chinese TikTok balloons on our phones,” tweeted Senator Mitt Romney. “Let’s shut them all down.”

The Covid and Green Energy Tyrannies, by Chuck Baldwin

It can’t be said often enough: it’s all about power and control, not health and the environment, and the weapon of choice is lies. From Chuck Baldwin at lewrockwell.com:

The phony Covid and Green Energy narratives have absolutely nothing to do with science and health and everything to do with tyranny and the destruction of Natural/Constitutional Liberty in the United States. And the two reports I’m referencing in this column more than substantiate that statement.

The Phony Covid Narrative

After three years of lies, deception, fearmongering and the destruction of what was a free, prosperous economy, a sizable percentage of Americans now realize that Anthony Fauci, the pharmaceutical industry and the CDC orchestrated a first-class con job—the world’s greatest Ponzi scheme ever.

So, now that the cons who perpetrated this global hoax know that the jig is up, President Biden is saying he will suspend the emergency orders—signed into law by Donald Trump and extended by Biden—on May 11. But that’s not enough. The criminals that orchestrated and implemented this insanity, that killed and ruined the lives and businesses of multiplied thousands, must be held accountable. They cannot just walk away scot-free with the billions of dollars in profits from this mass global extortion.

For example, along with Fauci, Deborah Birx was the other half of the “medical expert” tandem that falsified medical science for the express purpose of personal enrichment. Birx has even admitted that they knowingly misled the public.

The Arsenal of Democracy Isn’t, by imetatronink

The U.S. would have a tough time rebuilding its industrial war armaments industry in under 10 years. From imetatronink at imetatronink.substack.com:

The erstwhile “arsenal of democracy” is neither a democracy nor an arsenal. It’s a pretentious empty shell.

WW2-era Studebaker Truck

As I originally wrote in my July 10, 2022 article Wunderwaffe Du Jour:

“The US military is not built nor equipped for protracted high-intensity conflict. Nor can it supply a depleted proxy army with the means to prosecute a protracted high-intensity conflict.”

The incontrovertible reality is that the US and its NATO allies are presently incapable of supplying the massive material demands of modern industrial warfare, as Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) Alex Vershinin articulated so well in this essential June 2022 analysis: The Return of Industrial Warfare.

And yet the public discussion of potential war always includes convinced voices proclaiming that, just like in the Second World War, US industry could very rapidly ramp up to produce armaments of surpassing quality, and in overwhelming quantities.

This titillates the biases of American exceptionalists in general, and is a particularly seductive fantasy of the #EmpireAtAllCosts cult drones propagandizing for filthy lucre at the countless armaments-industry-funded “think tanks” in Washington and London.

But the notion that the rapidly declining empire can resurrect the Arsenal of Democracy band for one final farewell tour is a singularly delusional vanity.

Fact Checking Zelensky on Non-Alignment, by Ted Snider

Any fact checking of Zelensky will yield a bounteous harvest of lies. From Ted Snider at antiwar.com:

In his annual message to the parliament of Ukraine at the end of 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Ukraine has changed the world by uniting the West and making non-alignment unpalatable.

He said that Ukraine has “helped the West find itself again,” that it has “united the European Union.” He said that Ukraine has “helped Europe and most of the world feel that being neutral now is, pardon me, immoral.”

There is some truth to Zelensky’s first claim. The war in Ukraine has given renewed unity, agreement and purpose to NATO. Although, even here, there are outliers.

Turkey has not been united with NATO. It has sought to mediate a negotiated settlement to the war, it has held out on approval of Swedish and Finnish accession to NATO, it has spurned the sanctions regime against Russia and drastically increased trade. Hungary has not been united with NATO. On January 15, Croatian President Zoran Milanovic opposed sanctions on Russia and accused “Washington and NATO” of “waging a proxy war against Russia with the help of Ukraine.” Italy has been hesitant to send further aid in part because of domestic political tension.

Even France and Germany have not been fully united with the West. Both German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and French President Emmanuel Macron have continued to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin. And both Macron and Scholz have defied the US in suggesting that negotiations with Russia include addressing Russia’s security concerns.

Net Zero You, by Joel Bowman

Our would be rulers are trying to outlaw living. From Joe Bowman at bonnerprivateresearch.com:

Are you the carbon they wish to eliminate?

(Source: Getty Images)

Joel Bowman, appraising the situation from Buenos Aires, Argentina…

Welcome back, dear reader, to another Sunday Session, that time of the week when we gather at the virtual saloon to banter with mates and, in the immortal words of the great Aussie band, Cold Chisel, “see which one of us can tell the biggest lie”…

The world’s temperature has been “top of mind” for global elites of late, as last week’s Davos confab brought together a few thousand of the planet’s largest polluters to discuss what you’re doing wrong. Fortunately, the lifeblood appears to be draining from that coven of cackling kooks. (See our cheerful/hopeful obituary here: W.E.F… R.I.P.)

But that doesn’t leave the situation down here at sea level, where the rest of us jilted peasants reside, any clearer. Constantly we are reminded of the “existential crisis” facing mankind. Indeed, barely a day goes by when some righteous politician, ex-royal or hack actor is not on hand to lecture us about our carbon-based transgressions.

Take Jane Fonda, apparently immune to embarrassment, who was wheeled out this week to draw an imaginary line between climate change and… “sexism, racism, misogyny, homophobia, whatever… the war.

Highly-Cited ‘Hamilton 68’ Russiagate Tracker Is Total Hoax: Taibbi, by Tyler Durden

Yet another officially approved font of facts and truth exposed as just so much PR and propaganda. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

Out of the caterwaul of cries proclaiming that Russian collusion, and Russian influence operations, were the only reason Donald Trump won the 2016 US election (a hoax funded and promoted by his opponent, Hillary Clinton), a website which claimed to track said Kremlin efforts sprung forth, and was used to justify baseless allegations;

Hamilton 68: a widely-cited, (indirectly) state-sponsored propaganda tool.

The website claims to monitor a secret list of Twitter accounts which they accused of Kremlin control, however it’s impossible to verify their claims as the group has never disclosed their methodology.

Former FBI counterintelligence agent and “disinformation” expert Clint Watts, the spokesman for Hamilton

As Matt Taibbi notes via Racket:

Hamilton 68 was and is a computerized “dashboard” designed to be used by reporters and academics to measure “Russian disinformation”. It was the brainchild of former FBI agent (and current MSNBC “disinformation expert”) Clint Watts, and backed by the German Marshall Fund and the Alliance for Securing Democracy, a bipartisan think-tank. The latter’s advisory panel includes former acting CIA chief Michael Morell, former Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul, former Hillary for America chair John Podesta, and onetime Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol. –Racket

And now, Taibbi has torn Hamilton 68’s ‘black box’ asunder after reviewing the latest batch of “Twitter Files.”

Satire Or Serious: “Why Didn’t The Unvaccinated Do More To Warn Us?” By Tyler Durden

Is the Covid vaccine fiasco the unvaccinated’s fault? From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

Given the gargantuan level of gaslighting going on globally, it is difficult for us to judge whether the following is the most serious reframing of the entire COVID crisis yet or the most satisfyingly satirical take on the farcical narrative-managers op-eds we’ve ever read.

You decide…

Via iqfy.com,

They knew: why didn’t the unvaccinated do more to warn us?

The unvaccinated knew what we didn’t. Some of them said too little. Most said nothing at all. A lot of blood is now on their hands.

As the world struggles to come to terms with the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, one question that continues to surface is why the unvaccinated didn’t do more to warn us about the potential dangers of being injected.

While well intending citizens lined up, did the right thing, and received their COVID19 vaccinations — now seeming to do more harm than good — their unvaccinated friends stood by and let them do it. Some of them said too little. Some said nothing at all.

Even though they knew what we didn’t.

Our blood is now on their hands.

Those are strong words. But the unvaccinated had access to important information about the potential side effects of vaccines. They knew about the risks of severe allergic reactions, blood clots, and other serious health complications. They knew that vaccines did not immunize us. They knew it wasn’t effective, and that they can cause more harm than good.

Lost in Space, by Bill Bonner

It’s hard to know which is more phony: John Kerry or The Science he touts. From Bill Bonner at bonnerprivateresearch.com:

John Kerry’s extraterrestrial delusions of grandeur, the middle-class gets whacked and more readings from the Church of “The Science”…

(US Climate Envoy John Kerry, touched by the Hand of God. Source: Midjourney AI)

Bill Bonner, reckoning today from Normandy, France…

Earth to John Kerry: yes, you are a lunatic.

Mr. Kerry is in Davos, Switzerland with the rich and the famous. We will return to him in a minute. First, an update.

The middle class is getting crushed. It has only two major assets – time and houses.  It earns its living by selling its time. It keeps its wealth at home, under its own roofs.

For the last 22 months, real wages have fallen. Over the last year, for example, the average working stiff got a 5% wage increase. But adjusted for inflation of 6.5%, the gain turned into a loss.

Meanwhile, his store of wealth – his house – is in the early stages of a sell-off. It goes like this: first, houses become too expensive, so the typical middle-class family can no longer afford the typical middle-class house. Then, naturally enough, sales fall. Builders stop building. And finally, prices drop. We are just in the beginning of the final stage. Here are the figures:

At the peak of the housing bubble in 2006, the median family spent 42% of its income on housing. Now the figure is 46%. And two years ago, you could get a 30-year mortgage at 2.77%. Today, the rate is more than twice as high.
