Illegals Protected In New York, American Workers Menaced By Congress, by John Derbyshire

Why immigrate legally? Why work? Why not have the Americans take care of you? From John Derbyshire at unz.com:

Just when you’re thinking things couldn’t get any crazier on the immigration front, … they get crazier.

In last week’s podcast I noted the lavish benefits being showered on illegal aliens by New York City politicians—at the generous expense of New York taxpayers, of course.

And yes, it’s gotten crazier. I’ll just read a couple of paragraphs from the story in Wednesday’s New York Post.

A pair of Albany Democrats from New York City want taxpayers to pick up as much as $300 million in legal fees to help illegal immigrants fight deportation—despite worries it could also help potentially “dangerous people” stay in the country.

[Inner quote.] “We have a moral obligation to make sure that new Americans have legal representation. Otherwise, the odds are without a lawyer they’ll be sent back to their country of origin and could face dire circumstances, including death,” [end inner quote] state Sen. Brad Hoylman (D-Manhattan) said of legislation he is sponsoring alongside Assemblywoman Catalina Cruz (D-Queens).

Legislators estimate the effort would cost $300 million once fully funded, with supporters pushing for a $55 million down payment next year.

“Invasion Clause” Triggered In Texas As Migrants Overwhelm Border, by Tyler Durden

It is no understatement to say that’s what’s coming over the border into Texas is an invasion. From Tyler Durden at zerohedge.com:

Texas Governor Greg Abbott has invoked the state’s “Invasion Clauses” to take measures against a record-setting influx of migrants who are illegally crossing the border.

“I invoked the Invasion Clauses of the U.S. & Texas Constitutions to fully authorize Texas to take unprecedented measures to defend our state against an invasion,” Abbott tweeted Tuesday morning.

As part of the action, Abbott plans to;

  • Deploy the National Guard to safeguard the border, and to repel and turn back immigrants trying to cross the border illegally
  • Deploy the Texas Dept. of Public Safety (DPS) to arrest and return immigrants to the border who crossed illegally, and to arrest illegal immigrants for criminal activity;
  • Build a wall in multiple counties on the border;
  • Deploy gun boats;
  • Designate Mexican drug cartels as foreign terrorist organizations;
  • Enter into a compact with other states to secure the border;
  • Enter into agreements with foreign powers to enhance border security;
  • Provide resources for border counties to increase their efforts to respond to the “border invasion.”

New York City ‘Nearing Its Breaking Point’ With Influx Of Illegal Immigrants From Texas: Mayor, by Zachary Stieber

New York is nearing the breaking point with 11,000 illegal immigrants over the last few months, which is a week or two’s worth of illegal immigrants coming into Texas, Arizona, and Florida. If New York is near the breaking point, what do they think is the situation in those states? From Zachary Stieber at The Epoch Times via zerohedge.com:

New York City’s shelter system is close to being overwhelmed by the continued influx of illegal immigrants from Texas, the city’s mayor said on Sept. 14.

“In this new and unforeseen reality, where we expect thousands more to arrive every week going forward, the city’s system is nearing its breaking point,” Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, said in a statement.

New York has recorded over 11,000 illegal immigrants entering its shelter system in the past several months, with others going into the homes of family members or friends. A number have come from Texas, which started bussing asylum seekers who were released by federal authorities to Democrat-run “sanctuary cities” earlier this year.

U.S. authorities tell the illegal immigrants to go to court at a later date for the asylum claims to be adjudicated. Most claims are denied and many immigrants don’t show up at court. Authorities rarely deport illegal immigrants, especially under Biden.

Shelter

New York has a law that mandates state and local authorities provide shelter to “the needy.” That means “every asylum seeker that comes to New York will have shelter,” Adams told reporters in a briefing on Thursday.

But officials say they are “reassessing” the city’s practices in following the law because when it was put into place, officials could not “have foreseen” the current situation, a city lawyer told reporters.

Those practices include communications and operational methods.

Adams called Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and other governors who have followed his lead in bussing illegal immigrants to cities “rogue governors” and said officials are trying to figure out various ways to respond to the governors, including legally.

New York is receiving four to six busses per day, according to Manuel Castro, the city’s commissioner of immigrant affairs.

Victor Davis Hanson: The Subordinate Citizen

Most American citizens know that the laws that are applied them are not applied to certain favored classes, like illegal immigrants and Democrat politicians. From Victor Davis Hanson at zerohedge.com:

I recently led a group of about 100 citizens on a tour of Israel for nearly two weeks. Before returning to the United States, all participants had to indicate their vaccination status and take a COVID-19 test for reentry.

Anxieties swept the group as Israeli testers swabbed them.

Anyone testing positive would have to delay his or her return.

That quarantine would entail spending thousands of dollars in finding scarce hotel accommodations, additional living expenses, and rebooked airline tickets—depending upon the length of the mandatory sequestration.

Contrast this to the tens of thousands of foreign nationals now mustering to cross illegally into the United States this summer.

They follow the already 2 million who’ve entered the country unlawfully since Joe Biden became president.

Does any foreign national worry about being tested for COVID-19, much less fear being turned away if he tests positive or lacks proof of vaccination?

Or do we scrutinize far more carefully U.S. citizens entering their own country legally than we do noncitizens crossing our borders unlawfully?

Massive Immigration: Humane or an Invasion at the end of the Empire? By Jon Rappoport

Drugs and illegal immigrants have overwhelmed the southern border and are destroying the quality of life in America, but the Democrats have no problem with it as long as the immigrants vote Democrat. From Jon Rappoport at lewrockwell.com:

The American Immigration Council reports that, as of 2019, there were 44.9 million immigrants living in the US.

In case you’ve been living in a cave, the Biden administration is trying its best to make the southern border a sieve.

But of course, this is a humane act. It has to be. Otherwise, it’s a plan to overwhelm public services, ramp up the Democratic vote, and generally stage a soft invasion whose result will be catastrophic.

For many people, 44.9 million immigrants—or the other figure I found a few months ago, 50 million—are not nearly enough. 44.9 million reflects nothing more than stone cold indifference to suffering.

“Humane” and “caring” mean there must be NO CEILING on immigration. No end to it.

In fact, you can find churches across America whose pastors and parishioners will tell you exactly that. These proud people are evidently tuned into a special broadcast by God or a special edition of the Bible.

How THEY FEEL is the most important factor. To them. Beyond that, no thinking is necessary.
