Wendepunkt, by eugyppius

Is the Covid pendulum starting to swing the other way? From eugyppius at eugyppius.substack.com:

Where’s the vaccine mandate they promised us?” whines Daniel Brössler, reporter for the Süddeutsche Zeitung, disappointed because yesterday’s Corona summit of German minister presidents returned nothing but some adjustments to quarantine and sharpened testing rules. The double vaccinated will now have to submit negative tests if they want to eat at restaurants. Markus Söder, lockdown- and vaccine mandate-loving minister president of Bavaria, criticised even these milquetoast restrictions, with some bluster about how he’d already taken a hard line against bars and discos. This is after leading German Corona astrologer, Christian Drosten, used his state media podcast to suggest that Germany should start tolerating some of degree of SARS-2 transmission, and that breakthrough infections among the vaccinated should be considered normal. Such statements, which almost surely reflect sentiments within the coalition government, destroy most of the rationale for ongoing restrictions and vaccine mandates.

Meanwhile, in Austria, the thrice-vaccinated chancellor Karl Nehammer has tested positive for Corona. The news comes as Austria announces they will delay implementing their vaccine mandate by two months. It will now take effect in April, if at all. Gerald Gartlehner, an epidemiologist and sometime governmental adviser, suggested that mandates (or at least their enforcement) might have to be re-evaluated in light of Omicron and the widespread immunity the new variant will elicit across the Austrian population. There is every reason to think that Austria will be past the peak of the Omicron wave in April, and that a majority of Austrians with have SARS-2 antibodies by then.

In the United States, former Biden advisers have published a series of editorials in the Journal of the American Medical Association, arguing that it is time to normalise containment and begin managing SARS-2 as one of various seasonal respiratory infections.

The Three Faces of Evil, by Karen Hunt

Cases are exploding in highly vaccinated countries, the march of totalitarianism continues unabated, and anybody who questions the insanity or refuses the vaccines face all sorts of dire consequences. From Karen Hunt at off-guardian.org:

People who claim that they’re evil are usually no worse than the rest of us… It’s people who claim that they’re good…that you have to be wary of.”
Gregory Maguire, Wicked

I’ve been sick over the holidays—not with the dreaded Covid, or the milder Omega, or the much milder Omicron, or whatever you want to call whatever it is that’s going around. I didn’t take a test for it, but my daughter did, and she has the same illness as me and she tested negative.

Of course, those tests…we will get into that later.

Anyway, I took some time off from my writing, enjoying my kids and my grandkids, finding so much joy and thankfulness in my family.

So here we go, back into the thick of things. Recapping the past two years and looking at what to expect in the coming months. And yes, it’s a long one, but not as long as RFK Jr’s brilliantly informative book, so there’s that.

On November 15, 2021, “[Maria], a German mother critical of the state’s Covid measures had her home raided and her children violently removed by police and child protective services.”

Over the Christmas holidays, Maria and other protestors, have been standing outside the quarantine center imprisoning children in isolation. They have been singing Christmas carols in the hope the children can hear them.

Back when Germans first started eliminating undesirable portions of society, they made up a word for them: Untermensch. Roughly translated it means “under” or an inferior person.

It’s 2022 and the Pandemic is Over. By Mark E. Jeftovic

The Covid and variants outbreak may be drawing to a close, but Covid totalitarianism has yet to be eradicated. From Mark E. Jeftovic at bombthrower.com:

A Procession of Flagellants – Francisco De Goya 1819

Only the most brainwashed True Believers will cling to the failed narrative.

For a few months now I’ve been writing that my thinking around Covid tyranny and these elite aspirations toward a Great Reset under their purview had shifted. For nearly two years I had feared that we were headed into a new dark age of totalitarianism and repression, that Western leaders would aspire to implement China-style social credit systems and completely takeover the economy and day to day lives of its subjects.

Make no mistake, many establishment elites do want that. It’s just for awhile there it looked to me like they would succeed. But then my thinking started to shift around that. I realized that the entire transformational shift in the very nature of communications (Internet), power (networks) and then money (Bitcoin) meant the very architecture of society had changed so profoundly that this type of top-down, centralized authoritarianism I had feared so much was now untenable.

It was trying to retrofit digital versions of industrial era authority onto a new terrain of decentralized networks and individual sovereignty (at least for those individuals who successfully position themselves for it. Everybody else will be neo-Feudal serfs, and many of them will actually prefer that).

I began to suspect that rather than entering this new Dark Age of Davos inspired technocracy, we were instead experiencing a crescendo, a culmination of over a century of creeping Marxism.

Covid, rather than bringing about a monoculture of globalism, which those who respected human rights feared, it forced the hand of these impulses. It became a matter of Too Much, Too Soon.

Further, my readings of history made me expect that when the entire false Zeitgeist around COVID, collectivism (including climate) came unglued, it would happen very rapidly. A la the fall of the 800-year old Czarist line in under 72 hours, or the collapse of the Soviet Empire within 18 to 24 months.

Do Not Take Part in the Lie, by Robert W. Malone, MD, MS

Acquiescence to a lie perpetuates it. From Robert W. Malone, MD, MS, at rwmalonemd.substack.com:

Good news from South Africa!

So, it has been a busy week. As I prepare for getting on a plane to head back to Virginia from Austin, Texas, I am taking a moment to try to breath and to write down some thoughts.

Yesterday, I had to take an antibody test in order to get into the studio in Austin.  The good news is that my natural immunity from my last round of COVID is robust – with IgA and even IgM Antibodies present.

This brings me again to one of my biggest issues with the public policy response.  Natural immunity equals or trumps immunity from the genetic vaccines, because the natural immune response is broad (against the all 29 proteins of the SAVS-CoV-2 virus) and appears to hold up better against Omicron. This sustained and robust natural immunity also applies to children.  We all know it.  Why won’t our government and the main stream media admit it?

Why is it that the CDC website that lists 146 million people having already had COVID-19 in the USA has not been updated since October 2, 2021?  A quick, back of the napkin calculation projects at least another 20-30 million have had COVID since then.  Bringing the number of people who have had COVID to around 170 million.  Well over half the people in the USA.

So, now comes a more transmissible but weaker version of the virus.  We should all be celebrating!  Over half of us have natural immunity.  Over half of us are vaccinated. Unless we are elderly or have significant other co-morbidities, we will be fine.  For many, if not most, will seem like another cold, if we notice it at all. Even the unvaccinated or COVID-19 naive person should be just find, if they don’t have significant co-morbidities.

COVID testing has become ridiculous and even counterproductive, by Andrea Widburg

Let’s shut down everything and institute still more totalitarian controls for a contagious cold just isn’t going to fly. From Andrea Widburg at americanthinker.com:

The omicron version of COVID is so mild that it’s indistinguishable from a cold.  Many people are asymptomatic.  We also know now that early COVID counts were almost certainly wrong because the dominant test used was unable to distinguish between COVID and the regular flu.  Nevertheless, Joe Biden has invested almost $140 million in a German company that will build a home-test plant in America…by 2024.

It’s no secret at this point that omicron was o-versold.  It’s so negligible that many people know they have it only because they’ve been tested.  Even those who have symptoms feel only as if they’ve got a cold.  They just identify as omicron-sick.  You only need to look at the hugely different trend lines between cases and deaths to understand that omicron is a big nothing:

Indeed, omicron may or may not be extremely contagious.  That’s hard to know because the CDC, after announcing that 73% of all COVID cases in America were now omicron, backtracked and now says that only 23% are, with the remainder being the delta variant.  But if these cases are the delta variant, they must be pretty darn mild if they’re indistinguishable from omicron and cases are dropping.

TK Mashup: “Omicron DEATH!”, by Matt Taibbi and Matt Orfalea

The media is turning common colds that are killing virtually nobody into a pandemic variant that threatens to kill us all. It’s Chicken-Little journalism. From Matt Taibbi and Matt Orfalea at taibbi.substack.com:

For a while now it’s been clear the primary objective of most pandemic coverage is to scare the socks off mass audiences. Good news, bad news, boring news, interesting news, news that’s more of a wash in the final analysis, news that’s a net plus overall: it’s all presented as terrifying, more signs of the Apocalypse. There’s no better example than the stampede to advertise the “first death from Omicron” in the United States.

Matt Orfalea does a hilarious job of stitching together an homage to the latest moral panic. So many great little details here, from the “Way Too Early” background to one reporter’s premature death report to the “aggressive Covid vice” imagery, the dramatic Biden-cough, and so much more.

It was the world’s loudest record-scratch when the WHO in the first week of December said the ominous “Omicron variant” of Covid-19 had been detected in 38 countries, but without any known deaths.

No deaths? How could that be? In the United States in late November, we’d already skipped past the stunned-curiosity phase and moved straight into active mass panic, with “fallout from the Omicron variant” causing the Dow to fall 652 points in a day when news of the mutant contagion arrived. Right away, we had a travel ban from southern Africa, an address urging calm from President Mumbles, and a declaration of a “Variant of Concern” from the CDC, as “scientists raced” to learn more about this “almost Frankensteinish” new strain of Covid-19.

Genius Marketing: Common Cold Rebrands As ‘Omicron’ To Generate More Hype

Can someone help me understand the White House strategy now? By Alex Berenson

We’re going to trample the Constitution to fight colds? Those who would give up essential liberty to fight runny noses will end up with no liberty and a lot of snot. From Alex Berenson at alexberenson.substack.com:

I know they’re dumb, but are they this dumb?

Guys, I don’t know how to say this any more clearly: it is OVER.

The Omicold (pronounced Immacold) variant is about to bring this clown show to its inevitable conclusion.

I know none of our supposedly non-racist public health authorities were willing to believe the South African numbers, but we now have almost a month of data out of Denmark.

They are real. And they are spectacular.

Between Dec. 13 and Dec. 20, Denmark reported approximately 50,000 confirmed Omicron cases.

Given the approximately one-week lag between infection and hospitalization, those people should be flooding into hospitals.

EXCEPT THE NUMBER OF OMICRON PATIENTS IN DANISH HOSPITALS HAS NOT RISEN IN THE LAST WEEK.

You read that right. 50,000 positive tests the week before, no change in hospitalizations. Admissions have risen slightly, but patients are being discharged as fast as they are being admitted.

The result: as of Dec. 21, Danish hospitals had 47 Omicron patients, with under five (the report is not more specific) in intensive care.

Preliminary UK data: Triple vaccinated SARS-2 positives are more than four times more likely to have Omicron than unvaccinated. By eugyppius

What are the pro-vaxxers going to say if this data pans out? Vaccines are supposed to make it less likely that you’ll get the disease. From eugyppius at eugyppius.substack.com:

We should be calling for a total and complete shutdown of vaccinations until our public health representatives can figure out what is going on.

Norman Fenton points out an interesting tidbit in the 21 December UK Office of National Statistics infection survey, on “Characteristics related to having an Omicron compatible result in those who test positive for COVID-19”. The data is for infections from 29 November to 12 December.

First, this remarkable passage from the results sheet:

Those who have received three doses of a vaccine and test positive for COVID-19 are more likely to be infected with infections compatible with the Omicron variant compared with those who are unvaccinated, though individuals who had received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine continued to be less likely to test positive for COVID-19, regardless of variant. It is too early to draw conclusions from our data on the effectiveness of vaccines against the Omicron variant.

The data is in Table 1b:

Yes, the numbers are very small. Yes, the 95% confidence intervals are enormous. Nevertheless: According to these numbers, the triple vaccinated were 4.45 times more likely than the unvaccinated to have Omicron, among those who tested positive for Corona. For comparison, those with recent travel abroad were 4.6 times more likely than the unvaccinated to have Omicron, while the double vaccinated were 2.26 times more likely, and the single vaccinated 1.57 times more likely.

Putting the Final Nail in the Covid Coffin, by William Bernard Butler

Covid should have been over before it ever began. I never came close to being the scourge that it was initially billed. From William Bernard Butler at williambernardbutler.com:

Let’s put an end to the pandemic charade.

The United States Supreme Court has decided that it will hold an expedited hearing on two out of four of the Biden vaccine mandates, with oral arguments scheduled for Saturday, January 7, 2022.  The SCOTUS will be reviewing the Sixth Circuit’s decision affirming the private employer OSHA mandates after the Fifth Circuit unanimously held that OSHA did not have jurisdiction over the seasonal flu and issued a nationwide injunction.  The Court will also be reviewing the “CMS Mandate” dictating that health care workers working for authorized Medicaid and Medicare providers must also be vaxxed.   Both the Eighth Circuit and the Fifth Circuit have enjoined the CMS Mandate, making the CMS Mandate uneforceable in 25 states.   As of this writing, the Court will not be reviewing injunctions against the “federal contractor” mandate which has been halted by federal judges in Georgia and Florida.

I hope readers of this piece will be persuaded that whatever the Supreme Court decides, it will be a win for those who do not want to participate in federally coerced drug experiments.

If the Court follows the trend among Federalist Society judges and rules against the mandates, that will be a win because it will put an end to to the make-believe pandemic and a so-called vaccine mandate that is in fact a massive medical experiment that violates informed consent and the Nuremberg Code.  If, however, the Court is cowed by the Administrative Law State and issues another absurdly political decision and affirms the vaccine mandate like it did in the last health care mandate case–the Obamacare mandate decision–that will be an even bigger win.   It will be a bigger win because it will cause the already very strong vax opposition to get stronger.  The current divide between employers and the goverment will only grow bigger and become more irreconcilable if the Supreme Court affirms.  As more employers opt out of this federal scheme, the federal goverment will rapidly lose credibility and then it will lose authority and legitimacy.
