Hunting for Golem, by James Howard Kunstler

The long knives are out for Trump, but he may have a few long knives of his own. From James Howard Kunstler at kunstler.com:

As another president once remarked in a different context — LBJ speaking to a hanger full of grunts in Vietnam — “go on out there, boys, and nail that coonskin to the wall!” That was around the time the war was looking like a lost cause, with 1000 soldiers a month coming home in a box and even the Rotarians of Keokuk, Iowa, starting to doubt the official story of what exactly we thought we were doing over there. It was also, arguably, around the time America stopped being, ahem, “great” and commenced the long, nauseating slide into idiocracy and collapse.

The news media has taken LBJ’s place in today’s Wile E. Coyote phase of our history, cheerleading the congressional hunt for the glittering golden scalp of You-Know-Who in the White House. They got all revved up on Friday in a New York Times front-page salvo with the headline: F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia. The purpose of this blast was to establish the high and grave seriousness of Robert Mueller’s Russia Collusion investigation, because otherwise the yarn has completely shed its credibility. Note: it was around paragraph nine in the story that the team of three Times reporters inserted the sentence that said, “No evidence has emerged publicly that Mr. Trump was secretly in contact with or took direction from Russian government officials.” The idea, you see, was to simply drag the teetering narrative back onstage to titillate the paper’s Creative Classnik readership who desperately want to nail that Golden Golem of Greatness to the wall, scalp, paunch, tiny hands, and all.

Two Movies, by Luis P. Almeida

Pro and anti-Trumpers have diametrically opposed movies running through their heads about the outcomes of Robert Mueller’s and John Huber’s investigations. From Luis P. Almeida at lewrockwell.com:

Oh, to have a dollar for every time one hears the word “polarized”. The image that comes to mind when I hear “polarized” are two groups of people on opposite poles of the Earth, frozen into their diametrically opposed views. We have not always been this polarized and perhaps a better image is one of two groups of people migrating to opposite poles like chromosomes undergoing Mitosis. It is hard to argue that this polarization does not exist, the big question today is whether our society is going to violently split or whether unlike cell division we will once again move back toward a common nucleus of reality.

Regardless of what happens next, polarization is so severe that it seems as if people are watching two different movies and then trying to discuss with one another the plot twists and turns. One audience is watching a movie being projected by the corporate, mainstream media and the other group one displayed by the “alternative media”. One group subscribes to a view of history taught in public schools and the other has a revisionist view that is based on a whole different set of sources and facts. These movies create our reality around us and the fact that we’re watching different ones is in great part the reason for the sense of division many of us are feeling.

Hiding Evidence: The Continuing Cover-Up by Bryce Buchanan

The insiders take care of each other. From Bryce Buchanan at americanthinker.com:

More information is supporting the theory that the current big Justice Department “investigations” are actually functioning as big cover-up operations.  Robert Mueller’s team is effectively hiding key evidence related to serious crimes committed by government officials.  Mueller has nearly complete control over what the public or any investigator can see.  He has control over what witnesses can talk about.

This means that the Huber and Horowitz investigations exist to make you think something is being investigated when it is not.  That is why Representatives Doug Collins, Mark Meadows, and Jim Jordan sent a letter to Huber, the U.S. attorney, this week that essentially exposes the fraud.

The letter begins, “We write to request an update on the progress of your review of irregularities involved with the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) and Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) actions during 2016 and 2017[.]”  The letter then points to facts that indicate that there has been no real investigation.  None of the many key witnesses has been interviewed.  Huber refused to testify at a recent congressional hearing about the Clinton Foundation.  The letter then asks for information in four areas where Huber cannot reply without further demonstrating that this is a fake investigation.

Swamp Thang, by James Howard Kunstler

The Democrats oppose the wall but their alternative—sham border security—is no alternative at all. From James Howard Kunstler at kunstler.com:

Chuck and Nancy coming onto the TV audience as “Mommy and Daddy” Tuesday night was a nice gag, putting the “nanny” into the Nanny State, which is getting more and more like the Tranny State — the Deep State in drag. Will the supply of “undocumented” nannies be cut off to the Creative Classniks of Brooklyn and Pacific Heights? That is the question. Not this silly-ass debate over The Wall. Who is going to watch the kids while we’re out enjoying the pickled squid tentacles at Karumazushi? How about the NSA? They’re watching everything and everyone else.

Despite the antics of all the CNN “panelists” with their hair on fire over The Wall, the public now surely gets the actual drift of the situation: The Left does not want to regulate comings-and-goings along the US-Mexico border. Not the least little bit. The reason is well-understood too: the DNC views everyone coming across as a potential constituent, as well as a household employee. The craven Republicans in congress have hardly peeped up on the subject, either, with sheep’s eyes on the Hispanic voter bloc. So, it’s up to the Ballbuster-in-Chief — a.k.a. the Golden Golem of Greatness — to draw a line in the sand of the Sonoran Desert.

And the Circus Came to Town, by James Howard Kunstler

Gird yourself, the Democrats, never-Trump Republicans, media, and Deep State are going to redouble their efforts to get Trump out of office. From James Howard Kunstler at kunstler.com:

It’s Nancy Pelosi’s smile that gets me…oh, and not in a good way. It’s a smile that is actually the opposite of what a smile is supposed to do: signal good will and good faith. Nancy’s smile is full of malice and bad faith, like the smiles on representations of Shiva-the-Destroyer and Huitzilopochtli, the Aztec sun god who demanded thousands of human hearts to eat, lest he bring on the end of the world.

It’s not exactly the end of the world in Washington D.C., but as the old saying goes: you can see it from there! It’s out on the edge of town like one of those sinister, broken-down circuses from the Ray Bradbury story-bag, with its ragtag cast of motheaten lions, crippled acrobats, a crooked wagon full of heartbroken freaks, and a shadowy ringmaster on a mission from the heart of darkness.

Giuliani calls for Mueller to be investigated for destruction of FBI evidence, by Robert Mueller

That Rudy Giuliani is Trump’s attorney does not make his call any less appropriate. From John Solomon at thehill.com:

Rudy Giuliani has an unmistakable New Year’s message for special counsel Robert Mueller: It is time for the chief investigator in the Russia case to be investigated in 2019.

In wide-ranging interviews with Hill.TV’s Buck Sexton and me on Wednesday and Thursday, President Trump’s defense lawyer pointedly accused Mueller’s office of destroying evidence by allowing text messages from now-fired FBI official Peter Strzok and his FBI lover, Lisa Page, to be erased in the Russia probe.

“Mueller should be investigated for destruction of evidence for allowing those text messages from Strzok to be erased, messages that would show the state of mind and tactics of his lead anti-Trump FBI agent at the start of his probe,” Giuliani said.

The Justice Department inspector general (IG) reported this month that it found large gaps in the preservation of official government text messages between Strzok and Page, the two top FBI agents who helped to start the Russia probe in 2016, who were having an affair at the time, and who expressed disdain for Trump.

The report said a technical glitch was to blame for the FBI’s failure to save those text messages, but the IG was able to recover more than 19,000 from the early part of the Russia probe before Mueller was named special prosecutor.

Are the Investigations the Cover-Up? By Bryce Buchanan

If you’ve been holding your breath waiting for criminal charges against the perpetrators of Russiagate, the Clinton Foundation, and other scandals, you may asphyxiate. From Bryce Buchanan at americanthinker.com:

Those of us who have been paying attention know that serious crimes were committed at the highest levels of government in an attempt to exonerate Hillary Clinton and frame Donald Trump.  There was collusion between government agencies, including collusion with foreign agents, to illegally influence the 2016 Presidential election.  There is enough evidence on the table to be confident of these claims.

And those of us who care about rule of law, who want to see justice done to the criminals in this conspiracy, have been waiting for years to see that happen.  We hear that these serious matters are being investigated.  We hear that there are whistleblowers inside the government who want to come forward and expose the corruption.  We hear that there are many, many more documents which will substantiate our worst fears about one of the greatest scandals in the history of our country.

The Intersectionality of Online Shitfests, Political Tribalism, Religion, Systemic Oppression, & Useful Idiocy, by Doug “Uncola” Lynn

Doug “Uncola” Lynn identifies the real enemy. From Lynn at theburningplatform.com:

Of course, Z-man’s quote above would cause a gaggle of snowflakes to scream in unison: “Racism!”.   And, if the past is any indicator, then the next exclamation out their collective mouths would be something like:   “America has always been a nation of immigrants!”  Yet what they fail to consider is how past generations of United States immigrants assimilated into American culture.  This is not happening today.  Indeed. It does appear liberal democracies the world over, have been sacrificed upon the altar of multiculturalism and via the thought-control mechanism enforced by the globalists:  Political Correctness.

In fact, Political Correctness, as a form of thought control, has become a pillar of the New World Order. This means, any idea or perspective which could undermine the foundation of the new global orthodoxies must be challenged without delay.  It’s because dangerous thinking tears at the fabric of the new religion.  In the opinion of this blogger, the non-climate controlled aspect the new religion is an outgrowth of the ever-expanding and evolving theory of Intersectionality; essentially, a conception enabling “those marginalized by society (i.e. victims) to identify the entire grid of systemic oppression called the Matrix of Domination.

In simpler terms, this aspect of the new religion is just another form of racism against so-called privileged Caucasians; although no one cares to admit that in the near-mainstream public forum except for Alex Jones and Ann Coulter.

The Year of Putin-Nazi Paranoia, by C.J. Hopkins

Western governments and mainstream media found Russians, aka Nazis, lurking behind every bush. From C.J. Hopkins at unz.com:

shutterstock_1218818518

As my regular readers will probably recall, according to my personal, pseudo-Chinese zodiac, 2017 was “The Year of the Headless Liberal Chicken.” This year, having given it considerable thought, and having consulted the I Ching, and assorted other oracles, I’m designating 2018 “The Year of Putin-Nazi Paranoia.”

Not that 2017 wasn’t already paranoid. It was. It was completely paranoid, and otherwise clinically batshit crazy. But 2018 has been batshit crazier. It started out with the Internet companies that control the flow of information that most of us now perceive as “reality” launching an all-out War on Dissent, purportedly to protect the public from “divisive” and “confusing” content, and other forms of Russian “influencing.”

Twitter started sending out scary emails warning customers that there was “reason to believe” that they had “followed,” “retweeted,” or “liked the content of” accounts “connected to a propaganda effort by a Russian government-linked organization.” Facebook launched its own Ministry of Truth, manned by “a dedicated counter-terrorism team” of “former intelligence and law-enforcement officials” (also known as The Atlantic Council, NATO’s unofficial propaganda wing). Google stepped up its covert deranking of insufficiently Russia-hating and other “non-authoritative” websites.

Michael Isikoff Cuts His Losses at ‘Russian Roulette’ by Ray McGovern

A former Russiagate true believer now sorta kinda admits the investigation is full of shit. From Ray McGovern at consortiumnews.com:

Michael Isikoff, one of the biggest proponents of the Russia-gate story now says that Robert Mueller’s investigation is “not where a lot of people would like it to be,” says Ray McGovern.

Last Saturday, veteran Washington journalist Michael Isikoff began a John Ehrlichman/Watergate-style “modified limited hangout” regarding the embarrassing overreach in his Russia-gate “collusion” reporting. He picked an unctuous, longtime fan, radio host John Ziegler, to help him put some lipstick on the proverbial pig. Even so, the interview did not go so well.

Those who can muster some residual empathy for formerly serious reporters who have gotten Russia-gate so wrong, may feel genuine sadness at this point. Those fed up with pretense, unprofessionalism, and dodging, however, will find it hard to listen to the audible squirming without a touch, or more, of Schadenfreude — the word Germans use to denote taking joy at the misfortune of others.

In a word, it proved hard to square the circle inside which Isikoff and other Russia-gate aficionados have been living for more than two years after last week’s disclosures. Ziegler’s repeated expressions of admiration for Isikoff’s work, plus his softball questions, utterly failed to disguise Isikoff’s disappointment that Robert Mueller’s Russia-gate investigation is “not where a lot of people would like it to be.”

“A lot of people” includes Isikoff.

Commenting on the trove of legal and other documents now available, Isikoff pretty much conceded that he and his co-writer, journalist David Corn were, in effect, impersonating serious investigative journalists when they published in April 2017 their gripping Russia-gate chef d’oeuvre: “Russian Roulette: The Inside Story of Putin’s War on America and the Election of Donald Trump.”
