We Poked the Bear, by Doug Bandow

We’re going to wish we hadn’t poked the bear. From Doug Bandow at theamericanconservative.com:

We can now add the lives of Ukrainians to the death toll of two decades of unnecessary war, spurred by Washington’s arrogance and myopia.

Russia and Ukraine are at war. Despite the warm words flooding forth from the West for Kiev, allied policy has been anything but pro-Ukraine. Indeed, America’s approach can best be described as fighting Russia to the last Ukrainian.

Most cynical has been the West’s Big Lie that Ukraine would enjoy eventual NATO membership. In 2008, at Washington’s behest, the transatlantic alliance told Georgia and Ukraine that someday they would be inducted. Western officials spent the last 14 years repeating that promise.

However, Tbilisi and Kiev are no closer to joining, an unofficial recognition that virtually no member wants to add either one. Yet Washington led the consensus rejection of Moscow’s demand that the two states be excluded in the future. Rather than admit the truth, alliance members prevaricated, even though admitting the truth might have forestalled Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Neutrality, by Raúl Ilargi Meijer

The U.S. Congress seems to have a special affinity for charlatans like Benjamin Netanyahu and Volodymyr Zelensky who want the U.S. to fights their wars for them. From Raúl Ilargi Meijer at theautomaticearth.com:

It’s almost slapstick that people call for Putin to be hauled before some international court for war crimes, but it’s true; they do. It tells you what you need to know about your media, and then some. Because, whether you know it or not, the last 4-5 America presidents have been responsible for the deaths of millions of people in Libya, Syria, Afghanistan etc etc. Just not in Ukraine. Wait, that’s probably not true either. The estimated 15,000 deaths in the Donbass over the past 8 years would likely never have happened without some US help.

And we just see it all as par for the course. The “peace” negotiations between Ukraine and Russia look hopeful, but are they? Russia has always been very clear in what it wants from Ukraine, and that goes back way longer than the start of the “special military operation” 3 weeks ago, or Maidan in 2014. It goes back at least to the fall of the Berlin wall, but it’s really much earlier than that. How about 1945, and then throw in Brzezinski, and Wolfowitz, and Kissinger, and why not Mackinder as well?

Tell Me How Ukraine Ends, by Peter Van Buren

The Russians and Putin will stay in Ukraine as long as necessary to achieve their stated aims. The U.S. will fool around on the periphery with no aim other than to make things difficult for Putin, at the expense, of course, of its Ukrainian satraps. Putin will win. From Peter Van Buren at theamericanconservative.com:

Anything can happen, but Putin “losing” in Ukraine seems among the most unlikely of scenarios.

Doug Casey on What Happens Next in the Conflict With Russia

The Ukraine-Russia war will inflict more damage on the U.S. empire than it will on Russia. From Doug Casey at internationalman.com:

Russia

International Man: Prior to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, we discussed the rising tensions between the US and Russia over Ukraine.

What is your take on what has transpired since then?

Doug Casey: I think it makes sense first to recount the genesis of this war.

It started when an American-backed coup overthrew the Ukrainian government in 2014. A US-backed thug replaced a Russian-backed thug— nothing unusual, except that Ukraine shares a long border with Russia. The Russians viewed that much as the Americans would if the Russians had put a puppet government in Ottawa.

Next, the two Russian majority provinces in Ukraine, Donetsk and Luhansk (Donbas) seceded from Ukraine. Secession is usually the best way of solving a political problem between groups with radically differing religions, ethnicities, cultures, or what-have-you. It’s much better than staying “united,” with one group dominating the other. The Russians simultaneously took back Crimea, which Nikita Kruschev had arbitrarily transferred to the Ukrainian SSR from the Russian SSR in 1954.

U.S. Biological Labs in Ukraine: What Could Possibly Go Wrong? By Robert Bridge

The big question: what exactly is (or was if they’ve been destroyed) in those biological research facilities that Victoria Nuland recently disclosed? Does that disclosure make Russia’s invasion of Ukraine a little bit more understandable? From Robert Bridge at strategic-culture.org:

The Russians’ argument for opening a ‘special operation’ in Ukraine just got a massive boost, Robert Bridge writes.

As Russia confirms the existence of biological research laboratories on Ukrainian soil, one of the primary architects of the 2014 Ukrainian coup, Victoria Nuland, has sounded the alarm. With yet another ‘conspiracy theory’ debunked as reality, does the shocking revelation provide Russia with the ultimate casus belli?

The fog of war is clearing fast in Ukraine, and what’s being discovered is profoundly disturbing.

That much became obvious this week when the Republican Marc Rubio asked U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Victoria Nuland during a Senate Committee hearing: “Does Ukraine have chemical or biological weapons?” The response was every bit as unexpected as it was unnerving. First, the unexpected part: Nuland the inveterate neocon actually confirmed the existence of these previously denied labs.

Choosing her words as though the jobs of millions of fact-checkers hung in the balance, Nuland said: “Uh, Ukraine has biological research facilities, which, in fact, we are now quite concerned Russian troops, Russian forces may be seeking to, uh, gain control of. So we are working with the Ukrainians on how they can prevent any of those research materials from falling into the hands of, uh, Russian forces should they approach.”

Ukrainian White Helmets, by Good Citizen

Perhaps the White Helmets should be called the Whitewash Helmets. From Good Citizen at thegoodcitizen.substack.com:

Manufacturing war propaganda in Ukraine looks a lot like Syria.

You might recall the infamous “humanitarian” group The White Helmets. There was a Netflix documentary on the organization produced by George Clooney that won the 2017 Oscar for best documentary short.

The group was a USAID (spook) funded operation to manufacture “evidence” of war crimes and atrocities in Syria for western audiences under the guise of a group providing ‘humanitarian assistance’. USAID provided no funding for such groups in Iraq, Afghanistan or Libya because wherever the U.S. invades, there are no war crimes and thereby no need for humanitarian assistance.

Like all war propaganda in zones where no independent journalists are allowed there’s no way to know for sure what was staged by the White Helmets and what was real, though evidence exists that they staged a good number of their performances.

From an article by Consortium News that critically examines the group.

Across the mainstream Western media, the “White Helmets” are hailed as heroic first responders rescuing injured civilians in rebel-controlled parts of Syria. The U.K. Guardian and The Independent urged the Nobel Committee to award this year’s Nobel Peace Prize to the “White Helmets.”

There are claims the group saved 65,000 people on the ground. Each member could also walk on water and pee out perfectly cut diamonds.

The group was mostly a PR and Marketing operation.

The “White Helmets” brand was conceived and directed by a New York-based marketing company named “The Syria Campaign,” which itself was “incubated” by a larger politically oriented marketing company called Purpose.

Restaurants Now Requiring Proof Of Ukraine Support

From The Babylon Bee:

U.S.—As the war between Russia and Ukraine rages on, restaurants across the country are now requiring proof of Ukraine support in order to eat in their restaurants. Patrons are being asked to produce a photo ID and open up their social media profiles to prove they have been adequately supporting Ukraine by posting flags and sharing the latest wartime propaganda.

“We need to support Ukraine as it is the latest thing we are supposed to support,” said the manager of one NYC cafe. “If you aren’t adequately supporting the thing that everyone says we are supposed to be supporting at this time, you don’t deserve to eat in my store!”

When asked about whether he would still require vaccine cards due to the pandemic, he stared blankly and said: “The what? I’m not sure what you’re talking about.”

Patrons who don’t have adequate evidence of Ukraine support will then have to show adequate evidence of Russia hatred before entering.

World War III Has Already Started, and It’s an Economic War, by Brandon Smith

It’s mostly an economic war . . . so far. From Brandon Smith at alt-market.us:

In an article I published in April of 2018, titled World War III Will Be An Economic War, I outlined a number of factors that portend a large scale conflict between East and West and why this war would be mainly economic in nature. I investigated how this conflict would actually benefit globalists and globalist institutions seeking to bring down multiple nations’ economies while hiding the engineered crisis behind a wall of geopolitical chaos and noise.

The goal? To convince the masses that national sovereignty is a plague that only leads to widespread death, and that the “solution” is a one-world system – conveniently managed by the globalists, of course. That is to say, more centralization is always offered as the solution to every problem.

Furthermore, the war itself acts as cover for the inflationary collapse that our central bank and government has created. We are already seeing fraud propagandists like White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki attempting to mislead the public into believing all our current inflation problems stem from the Ukraine war. This claim requires some impressive mental gymnastics and an epic level of ignorance, but Psaki seems to have no shame about her role as a soulless Goebbels-like figure.

One issue which I used to get a lot of arguments over was the idea that countries like Russia and China would end up so closely aligned. People claimed there were too many disparities and that the countries would ultimately turn on each other in the middle of a financial crisis.

Well, it’s four years later and now we’re going to see if that is true or not. So far, it looks like I was correct.

What’s Really Up with Ukraine? Deep State Seeking New World Order, by Alexandra Bruce

Some people in the alternative media see Vladimir Putin as a challenger to the New World Order set, some see him as its tool. From Alexandra Bruce at lewrockwell.com:

For all of the vilification outwardly being heaped upon Putin by the establishment, the sanctions being placed on Russia by this same establishment will do a lot more to hurt the West than they will to hurt Russia.

The Biden Regime is negotiating with Iran and Venezuela to buy oil. They will literally do anything to avoid restarting the Keystone pipeline and anything to prevent US energy independence, even in the face of this immense crisis that they’ve created.

On Monday, we saw Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg tell people who can’t afford $4 gas that they should buy $60k Electric Vehicles. It should be clear by now to even the dumbest people that, together with the promotion of this war, the Climate Change agenda being promoted by the Globalists is about collapsing the West, ending the Petrodollar and ending the US dollar as a reserve currency. Everything we see from the propped-up corpse of a Biden Presidency is about the Globalists’ controlled demolition of American sovereignty, power and prestige.

The World Economic Forum is now suddenly mass-deleting their cyber attack “plans” from their websites, which they admit will kill millions of people and they’ve also deleted their profiles of Vladimir Putin, who was one of the earliest graduates of the WEF’s Young Global Leaders program.

This has some wondering whether the former KGB agent was spying on the Globalist organization to protect Russia’s interests or if he was being trained for his role as a major player in the New World Order agenda?

Western Response to Ukraine Conflict Exposes Deep-Seated Anti-Russia Prejudice, by Robert Bridge

The Russian idea of peace did not include the U.S. and NATO, and their weaponry, on its doorstep in Ukraine. From Robert Bridge at strategic-culture.org:

The West wants to lecture Russia on the merits of peace, yet that is exactly what Moscow was attempting to achieve for many years.

For many decades, every American public institution – from the spook-infested studios of Hollywood to the dinosaur legacy media – presented a tired and repugnant image of the Russian people to its audiences. Now, with Moscow forced to contend with a neo-Nazi element smack on its border, the by-product of that sinister propaganda campaign is targeting Russians in the form of pure racism.

If the Western world’s contempt for Russia could somehow be converted into reusable fuel, the Western world would have enough oil and gas reserves to last the next 1,000 years and probably much longer. But alas, the world of science and technology has not yet found a way of tapping into human irrationality for any strictly practical purposes, thus we’re just left with crude displays of xenophobia in some of the most unexpected places.

This week, for example, the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra fired famed Russian conductor, Valery Gergiev for not denouncing Moscow’s special operation in Ukraine. Gergiev, 68, a vocal supporter of Vladimir Putin, had previously expressed his approval of Crimea becoming part of the Russian Federation. And while Germany’s cultural elite are free to hire and fire whoever they like, and for whatever political views they deem inappropriate, it would be good to see some consistency on such matters. When U.S.-led NATO forces unleashed hell on Iraq in 2003 and in Libya in 2011, for example, were any American or European composers sacked because of their views and place of birth? In fact, cheering on Western forces during their long run of illicit warmongering, in hardscrabble places like Iraq, Syria and Libya, would have done nothing to hurt a person’s career and more than likely advance it.

On the other end of the cultural spectrum, in the realm of sport, Russian and Belarusian athletes were banned from competing in the Beijing 2022 Paralympic Winter Games due to the military conflict in Ukraine. Again, where is the precedent for this noxious form of discrimination, where competitors are outright banned solely for the ‘crime’ of being born in a particular country? And let’s not forget, as much as the mainstream media would like us to, that Russia was not the only nation that found itself engaged in a military operation at this period in time.
