But What About the Roads? By Eric Peters

There is nothing that governments do other than make war that private individuals cannot do as well or better. From Eric Peters at ericpetersautos.com:

But what about the roads?

Anyone who has tried to advocate for a libertarian society – i.e., a society in which coercion is the fundamental crime – has heard this refrain. Its premise is that we’d have no roads to travel on if it weren’t for government seizing people’s land – this is styled “eminent domain,” to make it sound official rather than immoral – and forcing people to pay for the roads laid down upon them.

It’s a strange argument given that – in the first place – roads precede government. They may have been (at first) mere paths or trails through woods and fields – but the function is fundamentally the same as any other road.

Some of these trails and paths eventually became very much like the roads as we know them, sans the asphalt and guardrails, of course. These roads were considered the public right-of-way for much of history – and it was accepted that everyone had the right to travel upon them.

So, roads – and the principle of the public right-of-way – predate government.

The Democracy Disconnect in Canada Highlights a Big Mistake Conservatives Make, by Sundance

Most conservatives haven’t a clue how to fight an ideological and philosophical battle. From Sundance at theconservativetreehouse.com:

When the terms “freedom and liberty” are allowed to be defined as extremist sentiment, what you end up with are Canadian federal police beating people in the streets and arresting citizens who petition their government for freedom. Meanwhile, the ever fearful and politically correct conservatives in Parliament grasp their pearls while simultaneously cowering to avoid labels.

Somewhere there is a radical called Saul Alinsky, the trainer of modern revolutionary communists and political leftists – who dedicated his training manual to Lucifer, smiling as he watches the results of his teachings. Unfortunately, we have not yet seen the worst of what is to come from this.

Allow me to highlight the point with two easily referenced examples from Canadian media (infiltrated with ideological stenographers) and contemplate the larger message against government saying we must “defend our democracy” while removing political protest. Notice the evolution of the collective narrative in just a few days.

The word “freedom” is extremist (Feb 13) … Conservatives are “extremist” (Feb 18)

Truckers Are Lighting “Brushfires of Freedom” In Millions of Minds, by Chris Rossini

Stoke those brushfires and let ’em burn. From Chris Rossini at ronpaullibertyreport.com:

Tyranny is nothing new. People who embrace it, and who lust after power, tend to follow a similar pattern. There are no brakes. They always push it too far. They always overplay their hand. They can’t seem to stop themselves once they have a grip on the population.

Canada experienced a shocking amount of tyranny over the last several years. And yet, under the extreme pressure that the Canadian people were forced to endure, it appears that a diamond has been formed. Out came a force for liberty that has caught the attention of the entire world!

We are born free, and meant to always stay free. Authoritarians, no matter how much data they chase after, can never know or anticipate everything. Who could have predicted that a major spark would emerge in Canada? Yet, that is how the history of Liberty vs. power has always been. Who could have predicted that 13 colonies would secede from the biggest empire on earth back in 1776?

Profiles in Courage: Dr. Tess Lawrie, by Margaret Anna Alice

The fight for truth and freedom is not a numbers game. One Dr. Tess Lawrie is worth 100,000 of the other side. From Margaret Anna Alice at margaretannaalice.substack.com:

A New Series, An Honorable Woman, Ode to a Whistleblower, & Meltdown

Profiles in Courage: Dr Tess Lawrie; Woman Sitting on Edge of Cliff with Open Arms

“Among other common lies, we have the silent lie—the deception which one conveys by simply keeping still and concealing the truth. Many obstinate truth-mongers indulge in this dissipation, imagining that if they speak no lie, they lie not at all.”

—Mark Twain

Introducing Profiles in Courage

With Julian Assange now facing extradition to the United States, valiant whistleblowers routinely being fed to the BigPharma/Big Media/Big Tech wood chipper, and ignoble liars deploying every weapon of mass deception in their forbidding arsenal, unmasking corruption is one of the most perilous adventures you can embark on in these totalitarian times.

As the quote misattributed to Orwell goes:

“In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”

Mercifully, there are a few valorous lions roaring out, but they’re being drowned out by the masses of baaing sheep, mooing cows, and clucking chickens. We need a groundswell of truth-tellers to sound our barbaric yawps together if we wish to be heard above the telescreen’s “enormous, unbearable, ubiquitous commercial break.”

In the comments at the Glenn Greenwald post on Assange linked above, one commenter observed, “these days, there [is] no bravery and there are no heroes.”

I replied:

“I can name almost a million, including Dr. Reiner Fuellmich and everyone he and his Berlin Corona Investigative Committee have interviewed; all those I cited as examples in Letter to a Colluder; and RFK and everyone he listed in the Acknowledgments of The Real Anthony Fauci.…

“Plus every ordinary human being who chooses not to comply in the face of astronomical pressure and especially those who are brave enough to speak out against tyranny.”

I then cited nearly a hundred people off the top of my head, and that list scarcely grazes the iceberg. Contrary to the commenter’s statement, I have witnessed more gallant heroes rising up over the past two years than over the preceding half-century. But if people on the side of the resistance don’t even realize how many noble truth warriors we have fighting beside us, how can we expect normies to?

The Frogs Have Begun Fleeing the Government’s Boiling Pot, by J.B. Shurk

Every day, more people wake up to what the government is really all about. Once awakened, they don’t go back to sleep. From J.B. Shurk at americanthinker.com:

The federal government spies on every email, text, and call you make.  It uses your phone’s location services to pinpoint where you are at all times.  It knows which I.P. addresses are associated with online comments that have been deemed “politically incorrect.”  Its partnerships with Amazon and Walmart let it know what you’re reading and buying.  Its partnerships with Google and Facebook let it know what you’re thinking.  Its partnerships with Twitter and Hollywood allow it to censor unapproved messages before too many brains have the opportunity to consider new thoughts.  Its alliance with credit card companies allows it to track all your financial transactions and thereby understand your habits, preferences, choices, and addictions.  Its alliance with cellular companies allows it to monitor all your movements, contacts, and associations.  And all of these consumer comforts that are used by the “national security” surveillance state to watch everyone in real time constantly measure every American’s potential for subversiveness, even when that American is engaged in the most mundane things during the course of an ordinary day.

Now, whom does the government fear most under these conditions?  Hint: It is not the millions of illegal aliens who pour through our uncontrolled borders (during supposedly the greatest pandemic threat in a century), or foreign governments that bankroll American elected officials (How else could Biden and other lifelong politicians be millionaires?), or the threat of an electromagnetic pulse attack taking out America’s aging electrical grid (because Congress’s “infrastructure” spending won’t bother fixing actual infrastructure when there are so many campaign donors and special interest groups to pay off).

Rather, it is the person who has no problem walking away from the government’s panopticon to go hunting in the woods, who decides to pay in cash, or who has woken up to the reality that the federal government is in the business of control.  It is the solitary American capable of questioning the government’s official State narrative and willing to think for himself who scares the bejesus out of the powers that be.  It is the patriotic grandmother who has the temerity to show up at the nation’s capitol after a heavily disputed election to wave a Trump flag while drinking hot chocolate.  It is the parent who has the gall to believe that the public should be in charge of public education.  It is the humble police officer publicly outed and fired for privately giving a word of encouragement to an innocent teenager politically persecuted for defending his life against a State-sanctioned Antifa mob.  It is the health care worker, firefighter, blue-collar worker, or soldier who refuses to let Big Brother pump him full of experimental gene therapies for the remainder of his life just because people who wear their prestige like crowns proclaim, “You must because we say.”  In other words, governments pretending to protect freedom are most afraid of individuals who insist on being free.

The Conflicts of Visions That Shaped America, by Jacob G. Hornberger

Do Americans want to be free or slaves and wards of the government? From Jacob G. Hornberger at fff.org:

There have been two conflicting visions in American history that have shaped our nation. As conditions in the United States continue to worsen, it is important that Americans engage in serious soul-searching to determine which vision should be embraced going forward.

The original vision

The first vision was that which characterized the American people from the founding of the United States to the early part of the 20th century. There are various labels that we can put on this particular vision: a free-market system, a capitalist system, a free-enterprise system, and a limited-government republic. Regardless of which label is used, there is no disputing that this was the most unusual political-economic system in history.

Just think: There once existed a society in which there was:

No income tax and no IRS. Americans were free to keep everything they earned and do whatever they wanted with their own money: save, spend, hoard, donate, or invest it.

No government-mandated charity, including Social Security, farm subsidies, welfare, education grants, or any other type of government-provided philanthropy. Charity was considered an entirely voluntary action.

No education grants, foreign aid, corporate bailouts, SBA loans, government grants, or other types of welfare.

No Medicare or Medicaid. No Centers for Disease Control. No FDA. No medical licensure laws. Hospitals were privately owned. Essentially, no government involvement in healthcare.

No immigration controls. People from around the world were free to come to the United States, with almost no questions asked. There were no limits on numbers. There were no required credentials or educational background. There were no literacy tests. Even knowing English was not a prerequisite for entry. As long as one didn’t have tuberculosis or some other infectious illness and wasn’t an “imbecile,” entry was automatic.

Few economic regulations. No minimum-wage laws and price controls.

No gun-control laws. Americans understood that the right to keep and bear arms was a key to a free society. They would never have permitted government officials to enact gun-control laws.

No public-schooling systems. No compulsory school-attendance laws. Education was private and based on free-market principles.

No Pentagon or military-industrial complex. Americans opposed “standing armies.” That’s why there was only a basic, relatively small army throughout the 1800s.

No empire of domestic and foreign military bases.

Freedom and Ivermectin prevail, by Justus R. Hope

There’s a thriving market for Ivermectrin from millions of people who would rather risk “horse paste” than the vaccines. From Justus R. Hope at thedesertreview.com:

The Victory of the Underdog

The nurse plunked down ten crisp hundred-dollar bills, looked the pharmacist in the eye, and said,

“Spray it on the floor. Don’t inject it. I’ll pay you 1,000 dollars if you fill out the card and say I got the vaccine.”

One can draw two inferences from this story:

One, those health care professionals in the know do not want to risk taking the jab. Two, they feel confident they are better protected with something else.

And that something else has traditionally been natural immunity through prior infection – but is now increasingly becoming Ivermectin.

By August 13, 2021, the CDC reported Ivermectin prescriptions had reached 88,000 per week, up 24-fold from the baseline of 3,600 per week. Based upon increasing popularity, it appears this number has risen many times again over the past two months, easily reaching into the millions.

Up-to-date October data are not public for obvious reasons.

But what has been released are the daily COVID cases and deaths, and these tell a striking tale. The current graph of the United States COVID cases has taken on the “Ivermectin Fingerprint” pattern so familiar to us from India, Peru, and Indonesia after they adopted Ivermectin.

Scandinavian Governments Announce “Covid Is Over,” Israel Announces the Vaccine Doesn’t Protect, by Paul Craig Roberts

In a world of free immigration, a lot of Australians and New Zealanders would be headed to Scandanavia. From Paul Craig Roberts at paulcraigroberts.com:

I have had confirmation of my report last Saturday that Norway has terminated all Covid restrictions ( https://www.paulcraigroberts.org/2021/09/25/norway-has-the-opposite-covid-policy-to-the-us-uk-and-eu/ ).  I am uncertain whether it is an immediate termination or the beginning of a phase out.  Norway’s equivalent to the CDC has downgraded Covid-19 to a strong flu. There will be no Covid passport.  In Sweden Covid restrictions are scheduled to end this Wednesday September 29. The Danish government decided two weeks ago to end Covid restrictions.  The President of  Croatia has also declared: “We will not be vaccinated anymore.”  ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXTGgup_Yto )  Have you heard any of this on CNN, NPR, MSNBC or read it in The NY Times?

How do we explain Scandinavia  and Croatia going the opposite direction to the EU?

It is a known fact the the EU government is authoritarian, not democratic.  Power rests in an unelected Commission.  As Covid restrictions are a boon to authoritarianism, perhaps the Scandinavian governments have decided against that direction.

The Scandinavian position is also totally different from the US one where the CNN-NPR-MSNBC-NY Times lie machine and Big Pharma shills such as Fauci, Walensky, and the White House Idiot continue to push for mask mandates, vaccination of children, booster shots, and firings and lockdowns if there is public resistance to any more inoculation.

The lie machine keeps turning out propaganda that adverse reactions to the vaccine are new Covid cases among the unvaccinated, that the vaccine protects despite requiring endless boosters and that if it doesn’t protect it still reduces Covid mortality, that 1,000,000 American children have Covid, and every other lie they can concoct to drive people into more injections. Is profit the only motive?  Probably not. Elite Americans are the largest audience at the World Economic Forum’s “Great Reset” indoctrinations.

Elite Deciders Versus the Freedom to Choose, by Bill Bonner

They know who should be running your life and it sure as hell isn’t you. From Bill Bonner at rogueeconomics.com:

YOUGHAL, IRELAND – Our subject this week is freedom.

“What is it worth?” is the question on the table.

“Not much,” is the answer from most of America’s intelligentsia. The elite, that is. It maintains that freedom should not be allowed to get in the way of What It Wants Now.

It wanted the War in Afghanistan… and for 20 years, it hijacked the nation’s wealth to pay for it – $2.3 trillion worth, according to the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University.

It wanted the War on Poverty, the War on Drugs, the War on Terror, the Wall Street Bailout… then the COVID-19 Bailout. All of these were sold as “investments” that would give us a better future.

What American citizen – however civic minded – would have willingly paid for these things? Very few.

And had they been good investments, they would have paid dividends. Instead, year after year, the money goes out the door and into the pockets of the elite… adding $27 trillion to the nation’s debt since 1980.

About the Elite…

And now, the elite is advertising even bigger “investments” – to change the planet’s climate… and bring equity (whatever that is) to all.

But the elite is running into trouble. Inflation is on the upswing. It will have to bring that under control by raising rates and curtailing its big-borrowing, big-spending, big-printing plans.

Can it turn around? Can it back off?

We need to do more thinking about “the elite.”
