Let’s try something different.

It is disheartening how many people are pinning their hopes on the next two elections. We still don’t know exactly how the last one was stolen—the thieves were never charged, evidence was never presented, there was no discovery, cross-examination, or verdict in a court of law—but stolen it was. Yet, many believe Lucy won’t pull the football away this time.

In 2020, no one showed up for Joe and Kamala’s appearances while Trump was pulling them in by the tens of thousands. Trump got more votes than any sitting president had ever received, but Biden supposedly beat him by 7 million votes. There were myriad inconsistencies and irregularities, many connected with procedures concocted to deal with the overhyped Covid threat. However, the election was pronounced free and fair, January 6 protestors were arrested and jailed, Trump relinquished the presidency, and that was that, a bipartisan-endorsed end of story.

Everything the Democrats have done since Biden halted the Keystone XL pipeline on inauguration day seems designed to lose votes, and the polls register fading support. Yet, the Democrats are acting as if they have this year’s elections in the bag, just as they did in 2020.

Politicians interested in winning legitimate elections don’t appropriate $80 billion three months before the election to hire 87,0000 new IRS agents, some of whom will be armed, to harass tax-paying voters. They don’t conduct a raid on the home of their hated opponent, handing him an issue which solidifies his support. They don’t engage in a Quixotic proxy war on the doorstep of a nuclear power. Their nominal leader doesn’t disparage half the population in a creepy, neo-Nazi setting and speech. Is it because the vote doesn’t matter, only, per Joseph Stalin, who counts the votes?

On that score not much has changed. The documentary 2000 Mules came and went; once in a while someone mumbles something about election integrity, and a few states have passed a few laws purportedly ensuring fairer votes (“restricting voter access” in Democratic parlance).

The Complicit Party . . . by Eric Peters

Republicans are gutless weenies. From Eric Peters at ericpetersautos.com:

Why do Republicans always let Democrats win?

Is it because so many Republican officeholders want to be Democrats – or regarded as “good Republicans” by Democrats? Or is it because they are, in fact, Democrats – ideologically in agreement on fundamentals (i.e., socialism) but wanting to see socialism realized at a more gradual pace?

It could also be something worse than all of the above. It could be that Republicans – the ones who control what the Republican Party does – are just . . . stupid.

Put another way, they are not smart enough to understand that when you accept the foundational argument or premise of your opponent, you have agreed with the foundational argument or premise of your opponent. And once you’ve done that, all that remains is haggling over  the details.

Mitch McConnell is such a Republican. He said the following the other day, in regard to accepting the Democrats’ notion that the recent mass shootings must be responded to by enacting more laws that haven’t prevented mass shootings:

Our colleagues have put together a common-sense package of popular steps that will help make these horrifying incidents less likely while fully upholding the Second Amendment rights of law-abiding citizens.”

Democrats and Republicans Have One Thing in Common: Both Suck on Free Speech, by Matt Taibbi

Censorship is one of many things both parties agree on. The only difference is who they think should be censored. From Matt Taibbi at taibbi.substack.com:

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education, or FIRE, announced a major, $75 million campaign to boost free expression today. The move places the longtime agitator against campus speech codes in a role historically occupied by the American Civil Liberties Union, or ACLU. Since its founding 1920, but particularly since its famed 1976 defense of neo-Nazi marchers in Skokie, Illinois, the ACLU has been a face of American liberalism, but shifted in recent years as its once-definitional issue, free speech, is increasingly cast out of the Democratic Party mainstream.

FIRE’s expansion is great news for speech advocates, but likely wouldn’t have been necessary had attitudes toward speech not changed dramatically among liberal academics and among the ACLU’s primary donors, traditional Democrats. Moreover it’s not as simple as free speech moving now from being a blue value to a red one. What’s actually happened is far worse: tossed overboard by the blues, speech has been left without a consistent, principled champion on either side of the political aisle, as both parties have doubled or tripled down on the most idiotic forms of censorship lately, albeit in different ways.

Neo-Conservatism is Alive and Well in the GOP Post-Trump, by Sean Willich

Neither party wants to confront or capitalize on the truth that most of the time most Americans don’t want to go to war. Both parties get too much money from defense contractors. From Sean Willich at antiwar.com:

The Russian invasion of Ukraine has been yet another polarizing event in the news cycle. It seems like other topics being covered by the mainstream media that if you do not have the correct opinion then you are some sort of villain, in this case you are a pro-Russian propagandist. So, what is the establishment narrative? Well, it’s simple, the Russian invasion of Ukraine is a threat to western democracy and America should be involved, doesn’t that sound familiar? Establishment Neo-Conservatives and Neo-Liberals started ringing the war bells before it was clear that Russia was going to invade Ukraine. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin expressed how the Russian threat to Ukraine could lead to a possible hot conflict between the U.S. and Russia. Republican Senator Roger Wicker suggested that we need to leave the nuclear option on the table. Many politicians have voiced their support for Ukraine, some calling for boots on the ground, and many calling for President Joe Biden to do more to support Ukrainian forces. All of this has done nothing but escalate the war in Ukraine.

Currently, President Biden is increasing financial support for Ukraine. Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal recently claimed that Ukraine has received $12 Billion in weapons and financial aid since the start of the invasion, obviously not all of this has come from the US It does seem that this war is dragging out much longer than anticipated by the Russians. It is widely reported that Vladimir Putin thought that taking Ukraine would be an easy task. Now whether this is the case depends on what news sources you are listening to. Some reports have said that Ukraine is holding back the Russian military, other reports have depicted a much bleaker situation for the Ukrainians. Some reports have stated the Ukraine and Russia are close to a cease fire agreement. It is hard to decipher what is really going on in Ukraine.

The Democrats are trying to cement themselves in power perpetually. The Republicans are responding with the trademark lack of fortitude, lest someone calls them racist. From Ann Coulter at anncoulter.com:

Why aren’t Republicans screaming from the rooftops about the Democrats’ plans to change voting rules to give themselves an advantage?Their sleazy election bills, HR 1, the “For the People Act,” and HR 4, the “John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act,” are intended to help Democrats win majorities in both houses of Congress, at which point they will ignore Republicans entirely, end the filibuster, and pass everything in AOC’s Dream Journal — amnesty, gun control, a wealth tax, and a rainbows and unicorns energy bill.

So it’s kind of important for Republicans to kill these bills in the crib. It shouldn’t be hard. All they have to do is tell people what’s in them.

Are Republicans counting on Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., to save them? The GOP defeated Hillary Care in the 1990s far more decisively … then it came roaring back a few years later as Obamacare.

Currently, Manchin opposes the For the People bill, but supports the even more execrable John Lewis bill. Both will completely rewrite state election laws to favor Democrats, but at least For the People will be done by Congress. The John Lewis bill will give unelected bureaucrats at the Justice Department vast power to impose voting rules on the states. Based on previous such exercises of unaccountable power, 10-year-olds will soon have the right to vote. (See Title IX.)

The Circus, by The Zman

Contemporary politics is a complete circus and virtually every performer is a clown. From The Zman at theburningplatform.com:

It is an iron law of the universe that the Left’s favorite right-winger is whoever currently has his hand on the knife firmly planted in the back of conservative voters. Nothing titillates the Left more than seeing one of their imagined enemies giving another imagined enemy the business. In the Trump years, they were spoiled for choice, as one “conservative” after another took their turn condemning the evil orange man. Now that Trump is gone, the party is turning their knives on one another.

This week the odious Liz Cheney is expected to be removed from her position as conference chair. She was put in that position because her father, the warmongering lunatic Dick Cheney, used his connections to get her in the House and then into the leadership of the conference. Like all ne’er-do-well children of successful politicians, Liz Cheney has a serious case of entitlement. Instead of going out with dignity, she embarrassed herself one last time with a tantrum on the House floor.

The lefty media, who universally condemned her father as some sort of Bond villain during the Bush years, is now firmly in the Liz Cheney camp. She is principled and dignified in her attack on her party and former leader. The fact that Cheney seems to delight in hating Republican voters makes her an ideal Republican, as far as the Washington media is concerned. They are still shaking over the memories of January 6 when angry bands of Dirt People were patrolling the city.

Democrats Warn That If HR 1 Isn’t Passed, Republicans Could Win Some Elections

WASHINGTON D.C.—As states like Georgia move to change voting laws, Democrats are pushing a federal voting law, HR 1, to take over voting in all states and counteract such moves. And as they promote the law, Democrats have a dire warning: If HR 1 isn’t passed, Republicans could sometimes win elections.

“If we don’t radically change voting laws,” Senator Chuck Schumer told the press, “we could have horrible outcomes to elections in which Republicans sometimes win. We Democrats, along with journalists, have explained over and over to the American people that Republicans are bad and Democrats are smart and good, and yet Republicans keep sometimes winning. Obviously, something bad is going on there, and it must be stopped.”

HR 1 will help stop Republicans from winning by allowing more mail-in voting and other methods that will allow Democrats to stall voting counts for weeks to “find” more votes when needed. It will also make voting so easy that it will ensure the enfranchisement of Democrats’ most reliably loyal group: foreign terrorists who hate America and want to destroy it.

If the bill passes, Democrats assure people that something like President Trump winning — or any other Republican winning — will never happen again. There are some concerns that the bill could be ruled unconstitutional, but Democrats say that would only happen if people interpret the Constitution as “some sort of document with words that actually mean things.”

Biden Will Escalate Aggressions Against China While Republicans Call Him A Beijing Puppet, by Caitlin Johnstone

It will be the same pattern as Trump, Russia, and the Democrats. From Caitlin Johnstone at caitlinjohnstone.com:

“Team Biden is soft on China,” Republican Senator Ted Cruz tweeted the other day, echoing a very common accusation that’s been leveled against the president from the right with increasing frequency.

Cruz, who biologically is mostly wetland parasites, is not being truthful. There is no evidence at this early stage that the Biden administration is “soft on China”, and there is a lot of evidence that it will be the exact opposite. Just today the president announced a new Pentagon task force dedicated to countering Beijing which will be led by a virulent China hawk who has previously attacked Trump for being too soft on China.

Antiwar‘s Dave DeCamp reports:

Pentagon officials said the task force is a “sprint effort” that will examine things like US troop presence in the region, intelligence, and the role of US allies and partners in countering China. Leading the task force is Ely Ratner, a China hawk who Biden appointed as a special advisor to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin.

 

Before his new position at the Pentagon, Rather worked at the interventionist Center for a New American Security (CNAS) think tank. Despite the Trump administration’s hardline policies towards Beijing, Ratner didn’t believe Trump was tough enough. In September 2020, he co-authored an op-ed titled “Trump Has Been Weak on China, and Americans Have Paid the Price.”

 

From his post at CNAS, Ratner led a congressionally mandated study on China that was released in January 2020. The report outlined various ways the US could compete with Beijing in Asia, including military deterrence or a “combat-credible posture in the Indo-Pacific,” as the study put it.

Are you ever confused when Republicans vote for more welfare spending?

Do you wonder why America’s wars always seem to start under Democrats?

During the aftermath of the Presidential election did it anger you that long-serving Republicans refused to take President Trump’s complaints about the election seriously?

Did their final betrayal of him hit you like a punch to the solar plexus, knocking all the wind out of your chest?

I can honestly say none of this surprised me at all. I know, bully for me, right?

Well, no, actually. It makes me sad to have been right for all these years.
I’ve seen the pantomime in D.C. as both sides hand off control to each other every few years but always ‘govern’ with the same over-riding purpose; to build an unassailable wall of power between the political elite and the people they rule.

This is true because there is no divide between the two parties in D.C. The GOP and the DNC are, in the great words of libertarian commentator Tom Woods, “Two wings of the same bird of prey.”

And one of the very best things that has come about from this election cycle, where clear and pervasive voter fraud occurred, is that so many more people have come to that same conclusion.

If you are one of them, believe me, it gets easier to accept every day.
I hear from well-meaning, thoughtful conservatives all the time. They are good, decent people and they are regularly so disappointed by the Republicans who campaign on the correct rhetoric but get into office and give into the pork spending, the assaults on our culture and never stand up to the Democrats’ insane ravings about race and inequality.

It’s because they are part of The Club folks…

..and The Club exists for their benefit, not yours.
