Have the Ancient Gods Returned? By Dr. Naomi Wolf

Why all the Satanic symbols and rituals the last few years? From Dr. Naomi Wolf at naomiwolf.substack.com:

Is a Seemingly Far-Fetched Premise, Unfolding After All?

These days, to my surprise, people want to talk to me about evil.

In a Substack essay last year, and in my book The Bodies of Others, I raised a question about existential, metaphysical darkness.

I concluded that I had looked at the events of the past two and a half years using all of my classical education, my critical thinking skills, my knowledge of Western and global history and politics; and that, using these tools, I could not explain the years 2020-present.

Indeed I could not explain them in ordinary material, political or historical terms at all.

This is not how human history ordinarily operates.

I could not explain the way the Western world simply switched, from being based at least overtly on values of human rights and decency, to values of death, exclusion and hatred, overnight, en masse — without resorting to reference to some metaphysical evil that goes above and beyond fallible, blundering human agency.

When ordinary would-be-tyrants try to take over societies, there is always some flaw, some human impulse undoing the headlong rush toward a negative goal. There are always factions, or rogue lieutenants, in ordinary human history; there is always a miscalculation, or a blunder, or a security breach; or differences of opinion at the top. Mussolini’s power was impaired in his entry to the Second World War by being forced to share the role of military commander with King Victor Immanuel [https://www.nationalww2museum.org/war/articles/fascist-king-victor-emmanuel-iii-italy]; Hitler miscalculated his ability to master the Russian weather — right down to overlooking how badly his soldiers’ stylish but flimsy uniforms would stand up to extreme cold. [https://www.defensemedianetwork.com/stories/hitlers-winter-blunder/]. Before he could mount a counter-revolution against Stalinism, Leon Trotsky was assassinated in Mexico City in his bath. Watching The Incompatibles, by Good Citizen

When we get tired of watching, we revolt. From Good Citizen at thegoodcitizen.substack.com:

And waiting for the savage rebellion.

INTERVIEW: Joseph Morgan Talks Sci-fi Series 'Brave New World' - Supanova Comic Con & Gaming

Delusions flourish that we live in enlightened times and that as a species we have sufficiently advanced beyond the grievous limitations that haunt our past.

Ignorance, illiteracy, pestilence, famine, and the consequences of natural disasters were all at far greater levels at any point in time prior to this moment, with perhaps the exception of the first—ignorance—which is now intentionally inflicted upon the masses who are too complacent, distracted, or lazy to adjust their behavior toward remediation.

This may be because prior to ubiquitous cynicism and sarcasm polluting western societies, serious people of the past acknowledged their ignorance whereas today they take great pride in not remedying it. Instead, they embrace it with arrogance and certitude.

Wars, tribalism, greed, the lust for power, the corruptibility of humans, and the desire to control and dominate others may never cease to be our most significant menaces.

The justification for conquest, dominance, rape, and plunder, in the name of myth, superstition, family legacy, personal ego, or revenge, for monarchs or gods or secular humanism, science, and reason, or borne of those realist terms that might makes right, there is no period of our history not marred with interspecies conflict.

Perhaps every generation throughout modernity with any modicum of technological or scientific advancement, artistic or cultural transformation, or philosophical conversion betrayed a similar arrogance and pride in evolution. For progressives, the inverse is necessarily true to justify their cause—the incessant claims that we have not progressed at all and things are always behind the curve of their passions.

Meet the eco-movement that’s hoping for humanity’s extinction, by Mark E. Jeftovic

The proponents of this movement should go first, for the good of the earth. From Mark E. Jeftovic at bombthrower.com:

Bestowing legitimacy on anti-humanism.

A recent article from The Atlantic explores (extols?) the rise of “Anthropocene anti-humanism”, a movement  “inspired by revulsion at humanity’s destruction of the natural environment”. This is a faction within the environmental movement who believes that humanity has already assured it’s own destruction, and that the world will actually be better off without peoplekind to mess up the place:

“From Silicon Valley boardrooms to rural communes to academic philosophy departments, a seemingly inconceivable idea is being seriously discussed: that the end of humanity’s reign on Earth is imminent, and that we should welcome it. The revolt against humanity is still new enough to appear outlandish, but it has already spread beyond the fringes of the intellectual world, and in the coming years and decades it has the potential to transform politics and society in profound ways.” (emphasis added).

Where previous ecological thought heavily criticized our impact on the environment, yet conceded humanity’s right to exist on this planet (gee, thanks), Anthropocene anti-humanists see us as deserving extinction:

“In the 21st century, Anthropocene anti-humanism offers a much more radical response to a much deeper ecological crisis. It says that our self-destruction is now inevitable, and that we should welcome it as a sentence we have justly passed on ourselves.”

The Four Fuckeries, by James Howard Kunstler

Call them the four horsemen of America’s downfall. From James Howard Kunstler at kunstler.com:

“We want to save the planet, and the life upon it, but we’re not willing to pay the price and bear the consequences. So we make up a narrative that feels good and run with it.” — Raul Ilargi Meier

I doubt there is another era in the history of Western Civ when the forces in-motion acting on society were so mystifying to those acted upon. And isn’t it especially galling that this is so in an age after rational scientific practice had decoded so many of nature’s secrets? Did that project somehow fail in the end? Has the Enlightenment been defeated? How have we become trapped like frogs being boiled haplessly in our own pond-water?

I have reduced these forces to four obvious streams of the sheerest seemingly evil fuckery, which is to say nefariously managed events meant to harm us. They are surely all related in some way. Let’s try to de-mystify them to understand what we’re up against.

First: Covid-19. How is it that we don’t know for sure how this organism came into the world, or understand what ensued after it did? Answer: the people who caused it to happen in the Wuhan lab have been busy covering their asses for three years, and successfully so. Yet we know exactly what Anthony Fauci, Francis Collins, Peter Daszak, Ralph Baric and others did. The paper trail in correspondence and patents alone is clear. We just can’t seem to do anything about it.

war on everything, by el gato malo

The goal is endless, profitable war, not victory, From el gato malo at boriquagato.substack.com:

including and especially you

The case against cats: Why Australia has declared war on feral felines | CNN

we live in the age of the war machine.

the purpose of the war machine is not to produce victory.

the purpose of the war machine is to produce war.

war unending.

war on everything.

permission to think the unthinkable and excuse to do that which is inexcusable.

it is the triumph of the terrible and the tyrannical.

the war on covid, poverty, injustice, drugs, terrorism:

it’s all the same.

war is the worst of humanity. it is the end of cooperation, the end of rationality, the abrogation of ethics.

war is permission to “do what it takes to win”

this cannot be the way.

war is the end of good choices and the embrace of conflict, the end of citizenship and the pursuit of subjugation.

it is the end of humanity and the beginning of amoral destruction of the enemy.

perfect for politicians.

anathema to the free breath of we the people.

this is jingo as justification.

and this war machine will roll right over you and if it does its job well you will never even guess at the real reasons why.

The Universal War Against Mankind: Extreme Domestic Terrorism Has Taken Control Over America and the World, by Gary D. Barnett

Gary D. Barnett’s screeds are generally depressing, but accurate. He usually closes with an admonition to the individual reader to take action against the march of global tyranny, but usually without much in the way of concrete suggestions. I repost him every so often just to remind everyone what we’re up against. From Barnett at lewrockwell.com:

“The more power a government has the more it can act arbitrarily according to the whims and desires of the elite, and the more it will make war on others and murder its foreign and domestic subjects. The more constrained the power of governments, the more power is diffused, checked, and balanced, the less it will aggress on others and commit democide.”

Rudolph Rummel

We live in a time when the ‘elite’ web of rule, the real power behind the throne, and enforced by the state’s political actors, controls the masses because it controls the politicians, the courts, the military, the monetary system, and therefore the entire government. Due to the very long term, incremental, and purposeful dumbing down of society, most do not realize the monumental risk we face due to this terroristic plot designed by what can be referred to as the “State.” That plot has always existed, and is meant only to gain money, power, and total control over the people, and to create a global technocratic governing system run by the few. In fact, this is already in place, and is in the final stages of completion. This is missed by most, because they are concentrating on the minutia, allowing themselves to be purposely divided, voluntarily voting for masters, hiding from the truth, and complying with most every order given without question.

The ruling ‘elite’ are evil, and therefore, governments under the command of these elites, meaning all higher level, and most lower level governments, are evil as well. I do not use this term lightly, as many will argue that this description is overused, but in this case, this evil is so dark and treacherous, intentionally pursued, and premeditated, that it has been accomplished without conscience or compassion for its many victims; victims made up of common people everywhere.

Chris Hedges: ‘The Greatest Evil is War’

Read this for Tomas Young’s last letter to George W. Bush and Dick Cheney towards the end of the article. From Chris Hedges at consortiumnews.com:

Tomas was crippled for a war that should never have been fought. He was crippled for the lies of politicians. He was crippled for war profiteers. He was crippled for the careers of generals.

Excerpts from the author’s new book, The Greatest Evil is War.

I flew to Kansas City [in 2013] to see Tomas Young. Tomas was paralyzed in Iraq in 2004. He was receiving hospice care at his home. I knew him by reputation and the movie documentary Body of War. He was one of the first veterans to publicly oppose the war in Iraq. He fought as long and as hard as he could against the war that crippled him, until his physical deterioration caught up with him.

“I had been toying with the idea of suicide for a long time because I had become helpless,” he told me in his small house on the Kansas City outskirts where he intended to die. “I couldn’t dress myself. People have to help me with the most rudimentary of things. I decided I did not want to go through life like that anymore. The pain, the frustration.…”

He stopped abruptly and called his wife. “Claudia, can I get some water?” She opened a bottle of water, took a swig so it would not spill when he sipped, and handed it to him.

“I felt at the end of my rope,” the 33-year-old Army veteran went on. “I made the decision to go on hospice care, to stop feeding and fade away. This way, instead of committing the conventional suicide and I am out of the picture, people have a way to stop by or call and say their goodbyes. I felt this was a fairer way to treat people than to just go out with a note. After the anoxic brain injury in 2008 I lost a lot of dexterity and strength in my upper body. So, I wouldn’t be able to shoot myself or even open the pill bottle to give myself an overdose. The only way I could think of doing it was to have Claudia open the pill bottle for me, but I didn’t want her implicated.”

An Ill Wind, by James Howard Kunstler

It feels like all sorts of bad things will happen within the next few months. From James Howard Kunstler at kunstler.com:

Something ominously foul rides the late summer breeze as our country, and Western Civ with it, tilts into the season of growing darkness. Can you sense it? Death is in the air, and not in the usual Halloween vaudeville mode, either, with the cackling lawn zombies and top-hatted, tap-dancing skeletons. This ain’t no foolin’ around.

We have never been so unprepared for a calamity in plain sight and that is because the people who run things have made it happen in combined acts of wickedness and stupidity. After decades of mere racketeering, arranging things so as to bankrupt anyone who gets seriously ill, corporatized health care now presides over a harvest of medically-induced death, pretending dumbly that there is nothing to see.

Get this: the people are seeing it now, and talking about it, and there will be no stopping their discovery of exactly what has gone on, or their wrath in the afterwash. The chief architect of this epic debacle, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the Captain Queeg of American Public Health, has announced his exit from the scene “to pursue the next chapter of my career.” He was coy about what that might be. I think the job title is: defendant. It will be a milestone in human history to witness The Science itself go on trial, should it live long enough. What awaits to take its place? Viziers with wands and pointed hats? Crones riding broomsticks against a cold, lifeless moon? A principality of dark magic? Descent into the underworld?

A Sea Gypsy Howls At The Moon, by Ray Jason

They want to replace reality with an artificiality that they manipulate. It requires boundless depths of both hubris and evil to think that such a system has even a single redeeming feature. From Ray Jason at theseagypsyphilosopher.com:

Sometimes I just have to sail off by myself and howl at the moon. I anchor in a secluded spot totally removed from human society. Mountains in the background, islands in the foreground and healing water beneath me.

There my only companions live in the sea and the sky. My little sea-going monastery, with its solitude and simplicity, provides me an almost piercing perspective. Every morning I attend sunrise services in the Church of the Natural – saddened by the awareness that most of humanity is hypnotized in the Cult of the Artificial.

For a decade I have been shouting out into cyberspace, warning that demons have high-jacked the Human Voyage. For decades they did this secretly, but now they boldly proclaim their intentions from their Dark Tower of Davos.
